Title: A question about agility.
Post by: callahan9119 on June 20, 2012, 11:57:53 pm
I know strength adds hit points to your character, but what does agility add?

I have a 2 hander alt I'm working on...I was thinking of going for a high agility build, what is a good one? I'd like to be fast.

Thanks.

Agility adds a small bonus to movement speed. About 1/5 to 1/6 of 1 point of athletics.

I like 15/27 as a 2h Agility build, goes well with all the greatswords and especially the longsword.

15 str / 27 agi

5 PS, 9 ATH, 3 points leftover, I recommend Ironflesh.

QUICK EDIT: If you hover your mouse over the stat's text on the Character page, a window will pop up telling you what everything does.

Thanks

No weapon master?

Hmm I think I like 15/24.

15/24 is a classic build. Can't fail with it.

Agility unfortunately doesn't add as much as strength does since strength gives HP as well as dmg.  Its why so many people are Strength builds.

Agility makes you move a little faster as Tom said, and it unlocks the ability to have more WM as you probably know.
WM is debated as being mostly unnecessary, but it depends on how you like things.  WM does make you swing a BIT faster, and it adds 1.5 DMG per every 10 WPF you get from it.  So not nearly as much as straight up PS but it comes with the extra bit of speed boost on your swings, parry, etc.

I tend to go 18/21 with MW Longsword, I like it....6 PS, 7 ATH, 7 WM, couple IF
This gen though im going to lvl 32 and will be 21/21 for the 7th PS :)

- ULTIMATELY - you gotta test it out in game.  Some people say go super strength no WM, others say no you need ATH over 6 and you need some WM, etc....
Gotta test it out in game and see what you are comfortable with - everyone's fighting style is different.

With a str build you have to block well. With a agi build you unlock the ability to play the range game.

Totally agree,  also 15/24 build is classic, works well.

This is true....but with agi you will have to hit your opponent more times (and take less hits yourself), so positioning and blocking is very important to an agi build as well
