Massive freight trains like that usually have one or more engines pushing them from the back. So he would have been hit by the engine (which is alot lower than the wagons) if he had stayed there.

Nearly shit my pants when I watched it tbh. Can't stand those "real" videos. Splatter movies are boring to me but those "real" movies where you exactly know something is going to happen... yack.
Tho I actually have a minor education as medic and my stomach is really strong... dunno why I can't watch those videos but no problem with holding a broken skull in my hands waiting for the pro.

Maybe he crawled under the wagon while the train was standing still, waiting for a light to turn or something.

well,  those splatter things i can watch to, those "real" videos to if there people dies like getting executed,hanged,explode,cutted in pieces etc but  this kind of movies if you see someone dying by accident i feel a bit sad or like this its like ... does he die now? i hope not

I've seen vids where people layed down on an empty track then let the train go over them, so I guess the locomotive is higher
