Title: Weapon reach polearms vs swords
Post by: Supreme_Leader on June 18, 2012, 08:40:13 pm
Bec has a reach of 120, and sword of war has a reach of 121, but SoW seems much longer. Is weapon reach simply how long the weapon is, or how long its hit distance actually is? Is there any difference given 2H swords are held at the hilt, whereas 2h polearms like the bec are held all the way up near the middle?

There are different animations fro poles and sword. Basically, you hold a sword by a hilt with both hands, and pole by the base with one hand and about half a meter along the pole with the other. That's why sword is always longer than the pole of the same length.

1h
Overhead = +0
Left-to-right = +0
Right-to-left = +19
Thrust = +61

2h
Overhead = +15
Left-to-right = +17
Right-to-left = +13
Thrust = +80

2h Polearms
Overhead = -15
Left-to-right = -7
Right-to-left = -2
Thrust = +19

1h Polearms
Thrust = +50

Arkonor has a thread where he tried to test the weapon reach/length animations but he did it incorrectly.  I use these numbers, and they were tested with a video so it makes me think it's accurate.
