Title: Does shield slow you down after it breaks?
Post by: PieParadox on June 13, 2012, 08:22:52 pm
Do shields still act like they're on you if they break while you're holding it, weighing you down?

If you spawn with 2 shields and drop them, do you still get a penalty to running speed?

I know if you spawn with a pike then drop it, you speed up (since run speed is affected by weapon length). I would think the same code is used for broken/dropped shields.

It would seem like that but if I remember correctly, throwing down a siege shield doesn't remove the weight from you and you're slow for the rest of the round. I was wondering if a normal shield acted the same?

Shield does not slow you down once it breaks, as far as I know.

Once you throw a seige shield,  you speed up.

I think your speed increases.

When I played agi shielder with low armor the speed boost after dropping/braking shield was very clear. With high armor and 4-5 ath I can barely notice any speed increase (but it's there)

You speed up. The weight penalty from holding it is gone if it is gone.
