So since this ladder rule has been exploited allot i think a new one should be implemented.
I propose the distruction of any ladders put by players to unreachable spots to be illegal except the ones blocking the entrances to houses/rooms.
Current rule is unfair and contradicts logic.
example: If there are 5 ppl on one side and 5 ppl on other side left in the match (talking about battle) and 3 of them from one side are camping unreacable roof 2 are fighting down. lets say only one of those 3 ppl pn the roof is ranged, he has an enormus effect on the final reslt of the fight if the other team has no ranged and therefore has no way of getting to him yet it is perfectly legeal for him to camp the roof until his 2 teammates on the ground die.
That is an illegal advantage and should be taken care of and there has been several exploits of that rule in last few days where the "exploiter" team won.

Or even better make all roofs innacesible like I saw in some of the new maps, there is a reason there are no ladders in native. And all this roofcamping is so silly and unrealistic.

I agree that something should be done about this problem, the rules as they are now basically mean that if you got a team of 60 players, 59 of them can go sit on a roof
without any way of getting there, while someone on the ground is running around on a horse.
I don't know if this solution would work, but I agree that the way it is now is just retarded.

completely agree but wouldnt this require a patch or some sort?
my idea is for fixing this problem before the new patch arrives, its a band aid suggestion until the doctor comes in.

Either:
A: Remove ladders from Battle mode, leave them for Siege/Strategus.
B: Make ALL rooftops unaccessable. This requires a lot more work than A, though.

Yeh the solution lies in spawning those flags in time.
If there is a flag to capture, no point in camping somewhere else.
What might also work: if a ladder is 'destroyed', make a (shorter) ladder spawn on the ground below it that the opposing team can use. Or instead of making ladders 'break' when hit a few times, make them 'fall down' instead so they can be raised again.
Many other solutions possible. Don't remove ladders. I love ladders. :wink:

Silly and unrealistic??? :lol: Funniest one so far. Ladders should always be like in siege. You shouldn't be able to destroy them at all. You should only be able to knock them down and anyone should be able to raise them again if needed.

I think that would cause atackers to burn the house down, along with medieval roof campers. Could you allow us to that, chadz, pleeeeease?????

Solution : TEST maps before adding them. Make sure there are NO reachable places with a ladder that can't be reached without.
Or simply remove ladders, obvious and best solution TBH. Ladders don't add ANYTHING good to the game.

On the ATS NA servers we have rules in place to deal with situations like this. However I like the idea of spawning master of the field earlier. I personally never attack a camped position and I always urge my teammates to say away, Yesterday alone I won three rounds by capturing flags against the notorious LL campers x.x

So the stash idea good or not? I think it's pretty simple. Someone on your team spawns with ladders and puts them in the stash. And if you have a situation like this all you have to do is go get the ladder.

I like the idea, posted above, about the ladders which can be put back up. It seems to solve the problem pretty well so far as I'm imagining it.
Consider, folks, that rooftop camping is one of the few things keeping archery sortof okay for many people. Without it, horses go WHOMPF with their lances, throwers WHOOSH with their axes, and arrows go DING off tin cans.

Should just have ladders implemented in siege mode. Same way that the attacks can use ladders and not the defenders. my old friendgchers shouldn't be able to hide in fucking trees, or on top of a roof when the rest of the team spends 2 minutes looking for him, just to get a draw. Cowards/archers ruin this game because the way they choose to play.
Could you really shoot a war bow, while keeping your balance on a roof top that is all dirty and wet from the rain? GTF down and play like a man.
