Title: Throwing pick-up bugged?

Can someone confirm this bug (maybe it's always like this, i'm new to throwing).

A guy was mid throw of his T Lance at me, when he got couched, i picked it up and the ammo said 0 and i couldn't throw it, just changed it to melee mode and use it like that.

Happened to me seveal times in the past with throwing axes, not a new bug unless another event can also trigger it.

The axes disappeared from my character when I switched weapons, by the way.
