IRL the Comp bows had more range and power then the longbow. The english had no clue how to make the comp bows so they resorted to a single curve ongbow. If using the same arrows the comp bow has about 2 mm more penetrating bower and a lot larger range and is faster. All around the double curved comp bows like the Horn bow IRL would be better then the longbow in every way.

Long bows were able to launch very heavy projectiles even if it wasn't very fast. All though they were not composite bows many longbows were made with the core of the wood on the string side of the bow. This again is not a composite material in the direct meaning of the word but it did have a similar effect.
Horn bows and re-curve bows were slower and more expensive to make and are much harder to string. Longbows were also very water resistant compared to composite bows which had to be protected from the rain by resins and wrappings.

The mongol's composite bow does pierce through knight's armor, but in crpg they got nerf hard
