Hello!
I have both sword heirloomed
mw italian sword get :
98 reach, 100 speed. 33 cut and 27 pierce
and long espada eslanova :
103 reach, 100 speed. 30 cut and 31 p
so italian gets +3 cut but loses 5 reach and 4p. knowing im a hybrid thrower with 6 ps and 130 wpf in one hand, whats the best?

If you like poking use the espada, if you like to use a combination of side swings and pokes use the italian.

The Italian is a good all around sword. Great Speed, Good Range, great pierce and good cut. (of 1h swords)
The Long Espada is more specialized. Great speed, Best range, Best pierce, and ok cut. (of 1h swords.)
For day-to-day combat operations, I would take the italian sword every time. Cut attacks are more common than thrusts. It's a well balanced sword.
However, some players are especially good at using the extra range and aiming the thrusts. If you are quite good at this the long espada will fit your play style. Using the thrust is great against heavier armored enemies as well, but your thrust may be anticipated.

I'd say long espada. Because it's longer and it's cut is still viable. Basically you will sacrifice 3 cut damage for 4 pierce damage and 5 reach. A fair offer I say.
If you do not like thrust at all, go for a different sword already.
If you use both of them regularly 4 pierce is still better than 3 cut tradeoff. Better damage overall. Also 5 reach is yummy.
If you're a fan of thrust, go for the long espada without any question.

Also, the Italian sword is noticeably cheaper to upkeep. Extra range is though of great use. Hard decision.

I prefer the Long Espada. 103 reach at 100 speed makes it a very good dueling weapon. Both weapons are good though and if you are only using it as a sidearm, I would probably go with the Italian since it is much cheaper to upkeep.

ok, thank you for your feedback!

You're gonna need to become skilled with that piercing thrust attack if you have only 6 PS. 6PS + 33c weapon will take forever to bring down STR build tincans unless you're great at headshotting.

By the way it's eslavona, not eslanova

with shield : italian all day
no shield : spada
that's all :D

This. Although all good 1handers use shield on back, to protect from teammate arrows.

if I screenshotted every time I died from friendly headshot...
My hard drive would be full
500 gig of painful headshot and non sincere sorry

When you're carrying a shield around friendly archers, they just see it as a challenge.

The problem with the espadas is that everyone you fight knows that you need to thrust to do any serious damage, so they are always on red alert to block thrusts (kind of like fighting a spear user).
The more balanced swords like the Italian and Knightly Arming are about equal slashing or thrusting, so you keep your opponents guessing. I used a +3 KAS for a generation or so, and it is one of the few 1h weapons that I could beat superior players with in 1v1 situations, because it's so versatile. Now I use a +3 mil hammer, which is better for killing unaware/less skilled people, but crappy as heck for 1v1 situations against skilled players.
On the other hand, no one ever expects a thrust from a Warhammer, Arabian Cavalry Sword, and the other weapons with terrible thrust dmg, so you can really surprise people. Although, "Surprise, I just glanced a thrust against you!" isn't much of a tactical advantage.
