I'm looking at making an alt and wanted to go crossbow/2h.
This is the stats I was looking at for level 30, please critique and give any advice. I was planning on using the normal crossbow and a longsword. I want to be able to hit medium range shots with the crossbow, and still want to have pretty good speed with the longsword, so that will require some decent WM investment. Also I'm not sure if I should be trying to use steel bolts, or if the extra upkeep will kill a new chars cash flow.

If you want to use the cookie cutter build, try 15/24 as a crossbowman.
There are great 1slot 2hander weapons, you can use every crossbow with this build, with great efficiency.
Even though more dedicated to crossbows and a bit less to melee, this build is just a no-brainer.

Well I want to be able to be a dominant 2h'er with the option to pull out the crossbow if I see an easy target (or a horse that is out of reach when we have only a few people left alive).
I'm used to being 18/18 for my cav build, so I'm okay with 6 power strike, but going down to 5 would be too low for my tastes. i'd rather not have a 2 slot crossbow anyways.

Either dedicate or don't use it. Using it like that is meh.

Well in my head (and on paper) it looks like a nice hybrid class...I'm thinking I'm just going to go for it with my build in the OP.
*EDIT* I also see quite a bit of medium/heavy armored 2h sworders who do really well in melee, that's what I was trying to emulate (I'm assuming they have more str and less wpf into crossbow than my build)

most xbows dont use the xbow as a 2nd option, its the first option, unless they are forced into melee or run outta bolt (baddies!) then stick with the xbow first... that said, 15/24 is fine, it give you plenty of wpf for both.

Yeah I will use xbow for first option (and have been), I just want to be able to do well with a 2h. I've been hitting shots with my armor that I'm going to be using with 60 WPF in xbow, and now at 100 I'm not having any issues. Maybe sniping on a strat battle is another story, but I think now I'm going to shoot for 130 2h wpf, and 120 xbow wpf.
And I think 18/21 is a better build, but that's just me and on paper. I'm not ever going back to 15 str if I can avoid it.

I think the WPF split will be more important than anything else.
From my experince using an Xbow with a 2h, you can get all those bolts shot off quite quickly so making each one count is the key. Thus having the ability to hit targets is really important otherwise you'll find that you won't even need an Xbow and will be just a pure 2h.

I only see one 1-slot 2 hander weapon, the mace....what others are there?

cudgel, military sickle, fighting axe, langes messer
they are 1h but when enabled second mode (X) then they are in 2h mode
