Since many players - especially ranged, wound everyone, get lots of hits and help their team but they end up with 0 on the scoreboard.
-
Maybe assist, but not if you did just 1hit but like 33% of the total dmg imo.

convert hp to points
If you are making kill It gives you +1 kill and amount of points = HP of kiled guy
If you damange someone you are not geting poinst until someone els kill him

Total damage or something similar would be great. Pure assists which mean, you did any damage... No. Every cav would get hundreds of these for just rushing into an enemy group and bumping all.
How about percent of total damage done? The total damage is shown at the end of the round already.

It would be cool if there was a formula that displayed "points".
A blend of kills (cuz finishing people off is important), damage done, all of this then modified by the quality of the people you are attacking (accounting for their level, gear value, and current points score). Also take into account dehorsing people, and the quality of rider who was dehorsed.
This kind of point scoring would take into account a lot more factors than raw kills or even damage, and balance scores out so that people who go after top players and succeed (at least at damageing them) are being rewarded better points than peasant hunters.

I honestly don't think it is necessary. If you assist in 15 kills, and get 0 yourself, you are most of the time rewarded with a multi. Do you really need to stretch your E-Peen? And if called noobs by the afk killing lancer cav, or 2h plate crutcher str builds who top scoreboards and declare themselves good, laugh at their ignorance.

Statistics are fun, people like them. You can have no statistics or good statistics, but crude statistics (just k:d) is unsatisyfing with their inaccuracies.
