My idea is very simple.
Make the penalty for PD to wpf less... BUT make bows do 2 to 3 LESS damage.
In return this will:
-Make archers create more hardhitting builds
-they will do the same amount of damage with 6 PD as they did with 5 and 7 PD as with 6.
-acting as a way to make it more associated to STR instead of AGI
-in return, less points in AGI = less athletics
Ultimately this will lesson the problem of kiting.
This is a nerf disguised as a buff!

- Trade the extra loomed arrow damage for more arrows and leave the bows as they are.
- Make the armor penalty to accuracy not as punishing, especially with helmets, so that archers can reach their full efficiency as part melee and not kite.
- Maybe enforce only 1 bag or arrows for everyone, if possible, so a better ballance between different types of archers can be reached, and the pure archer build encouraged. The number of arrows per quiver would increase in this case.
The devs wanted to get rid of hybrids, thus the ultimate archer right now can only be a kitter/pure shooter. The slot system already prevents op hybrids, so lets reballance the class in a way that everyone can agree on.

Just half their damage and don't do anything else. Would be a start.

Yes to OP's idea, but buff archery, crossbow and throwing damage by 50%. Witness the return of the shieldwall. If need be remove bodkins with their +pierce, but increase damage so that unarmoured people are instakilled by a longbow in the chest, and lightly armoured also if agibuild/no IF.
Arbalest oneshot everything up to and including mail in the chest. You know, like the old days. Then add weight to all these ranged whatsits so you drop them if you intend to run away.

Well as it is if you have IF and armour and decent str you can lulz at a normal archer with non-heirloomed gear all day since he isn't killing you without a headshot. Just silly. Seriously, complaining about running away given their damage output now is funny.
Even a agibuild nakedwhore isn't onehit by a heirloomed longbow in the chest, that is just nonsense.

False. Although more damage but less running away is not a pure buff.

False. It's on horse pfft if you see unaware infantry you can slash, rest you can shoot, fun times. If it was as effective as lancing everyone would be doing it, we had super-HAs and it was bad.

It still needs reballancing to make armored archers more viable than kiting builds. No more damage is needed.

They changed archery, that's for sure. In light armor I can't survive more than two hits like I could before but in Plate I can survive dozen of body hits if I'm standing still. I like this change, it's realistic.
HA damage seems buffed a bit.

A nakedmy old friend who doesn't have the strenght to weild a proper weapon even like a maul surviving a longbow shot in the chest is not realism, it is meh.

It's better than before, where wasn't much difference between 30 armor and 65 armor. Wearing light armor I could survive 3 shots, wearing heavy 4 shots. That was bullshit.
