I just came across this and I think it deserves its own topic.
Tbh new players are a pain in DTV because they ruin the game for everyone but it's really not their fault either.
DTV servers are more populated than ever. There are always some players who are low level and just have no chance to do anything usefull at wave 4+ due to their build limitations, yet they make the game harder for anyone else by spawning two additional enemies.
It would be nice to see the enemy spawn ratio somehow being linked with the player levels. E.g. for every player who is lvl 1 - ( insert suitable value here ) one enemy spawns and lvl ( suitable value )+ two enemies spawn. This way people who, for example just retired can be less ashamed when they join DTV and are trying to kill a sea raider with a stick.

Afaik DTV development is discontinued. Of all ingame features, Rageball is getting most of the attention.
I like the idea though.

Thats a shame. If this is how it is I hope devs will at least consider a few tweaks to DTV as it became very popular recently.

I cant stand rageball, the only reason i think people play it, is either because theve become bored with fighting, and/or because the gold payoff is better than all the other game modes.
But actually enjoying it? lol
Its like making a holodeck, and then adding a game mode where playing 'atari tank battle' is the most lucrative.
Actually,, i'd much rather play atari tank battle than Rageball. lol

It was just in response to the statement that DTV is not getting any dev attention, and Rageball is,
I like DTV, much more fun, if it had the payout that Rageball provided, it would be as popular or more I think - that was my point.

Best idea ever but i am afraid that there is something like that. If you are under lvl 20 and you are alonein dtv server you will always get last wawe of bots,and you will only fight weren,varric,shik,mylet,serfonz and one sea raider. I never passed that armored sea raider. :cry:

We had a pretty good team the other day and have beaten tincans. OLIVIERO smashed chadz's head with a flamberge I think. chadz headshotted me before though.

Spawn ratio is already determined by defender levels.

Wow didnt notice, everytime I see the numbers of enemies in the upper left corner it seemed to be exactly amount of players x2

Yeah rageball is terrible (the game, gold/xp is pretty good there, I know cavalry who go there to make money, but not because they enjoy the game).
One person joining DTV shouldn't automatically add "x" amount of attackers. It should vary by the level of the player's who are in game. Not just the fact that another player has joined. Seems like this would be pretty easy to fix.

Yeah, the amount depends on level as well. 10 level 1s will get ~6 bots, 10 level 30s will get ~20. 5 level 30s and 5 level 1s will get ~12.

10 level 1s can't even kill one bot, after the peasants wave. They'll die in one hit, and have too low wpf to block after being chambered.
It's nice to know that they don't make as much bots spawn, but they still make too many spawn, at the later waves.
A limitation is interesting. And needed, imo.
