Greetings, so I plan on no more retiring and here's my build so far:
Level: 24
18/15
WPF:
100 1h
100 2h
55 Pole
6PS
5Aths
5WM
So I plan on aiming for 100 for all melee wpf. I'm also thinking of incorporating Throwing or Shield [7 maybe slightly less or 5 respectively]. In order to do this, I was thinking of 21/21 at 35, or maybe I could do something like 18/21 at 30 with 6/7WM and then start building towards shield and 8aths.
Thoughts?

most people only put points in one or two weapons.

If you're going to get 1h WPF, then you should probably take some shield skill. 1h without a shield isn't very good in pitched group combat.

Since he's sticking with one build all the way to 35, being able to choose from any weapon class will help to keep things from getting stale.

How about something like
Level 30
18/21
WPF:
100 1h/2h
85 Pole
6PS
7Aths
5WM
5Shield
At level 35, I could reach 100 pole without anymore WM
18/27
6Shield
9Aths
Or do you think 21/24 would be better?

only 100 wpf is shit, 130-140 min.
and what point to go 27 agi only for ath? and dont max wm and shield?
i think 18/24 or 21/21 is good.

cause athletics is awesome... id take an extra 2-3 athletics over 2-3 shield. remember this is NOT a shielder build. its a 1h/2h/pole build. Athletics will benefit the most since Wpf will not be as usefull to overall build of the character

21/21 was the build I was considering earlier, I believe it lets me get 7 throwing and with 2 more WM I will be able to have 100pts in that, maybe more and would do something like:
PS 7
PT 7
Aths 7
WM 7
Shield 5 [or PT 6 shield 6]
100 1h/2h/Throwing
95 Pole
I had a build with 191 1h wpf before and didn't notice a difference between that and 100 [or maybe even 1 using a langes in 2h mode] so I don't see the need to max out WM unless I get a ranged form. As for shield, I prefer the steel buckler or the nordic and the only issue I have with the former is catching the projectiles while the latter doesn't like xbows or melee.
As for athletics, I believe the critical point in athletics is 8, whereas there's a huge difference between 7 and 8 athletics compared to the other boosts. I was originally going to do something like 15/27 but my heavy gauntlets are 18 difficulty and I occasionally go fisticuffs or with a dagger.

Don't plan for level 35. Plan for level 33, which is actually reachable.
Level 33 (35 569 612 xp)
Strength: 21
Agility: 21
Hit points: 56
Skills to attributes: 8
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 7
Shield: 6
Athletics: 7
Riding: 0
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 6
One Handed: 100
Two Handed: 100
Polearm: 100
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1
Alternatively, you can put some points from shield into iron flesh. Once you reach higher levels, you can either start riding or put more into iron flesh.

Level 34 isn't that hard to reach. That's my current level but 35 seems quite distant... I don't think I will reach it before this game is abandoned tbh.
Get only 1H WPF to begin with and later on throwing. I don't see any reason to put wpp into both 1H, 2H, polearm and throwing.
