Title: Additional run tier while shielding

One thing that annoys me as a shielder, the constant putting up and down your shield to maximize run speed (ex. chasing an archer or approaching an enemy group) doesn't really help all too often and just makes you run very slow overall.

I think it would be nice that after running with the shield held up for 3 seconds, shielders with the shield held up can move closer to 85-90% of their run speed without shielding.

Whatever numbers are slightly longer than normal run speed time and slightly slower than maximum run speed but greater than current shield run speed are preferred. (And possibly if you release shield you would go to normal run speed. Only stopping, attacking, or shielding again will slow you back down.)


This makes it so shield pushes can be more fierce/effective and gives shielders a niche at the front lines instead of turtling at the back.

The time before running with shield would be long enough for it to not affect melee too much. It may make backpedaling them slightly harder, but then their speed would go back down once they try to attack anyways. Only pushes would help, but fighting would not bring them any additional aid from this.

There's only so much you can stack :|. I don't have any feelings on this, but 1h bump ranged should be increased. I can physically touch archers without them being bumped :|

Shield skill should increase:

1. Crushthrough resistance
2. Crossbow penetration resistance
3. Run speed while shield up

I'd even give up the forcefield against ranged for the above.

As is this. I was just thinking of non-gamebreaking ways to make shield a little more interesting and better at what it's supposed to accel at.

How to shieldbump:

- Hold W and only turn into his direction to navigate, nothing else, strafing will make you slower

- Shieldbumping an archer does not stun him, it makes him cancel the shot so keep your eyes open for this and attack immediatly after

- Shieldbumping also works from the sides

- If you want to stun an archer you have to touch him while holding down LMB and while he is carrying a bow in his hands, unimportant whether he has it drawn or not

- Never lower you shield when an archer has his bow drawn, not even when he has his back to you, wait for him to shoot or until you bumped/canceled his shot

Extra tip:

- At longer ranges, even if you have your shield up dont forget dodging, it will save your shield some durability

- When you get in range use a lolstab or overhead, these are the hardest to make glancing as their swing directions cant be neutralized by footwork

Voila, 100% win situation for the shielder in a 1v1, if you can defeat him in melee that is.

If you hold down LMB, the attack button, with a weapon in your hand or fists and you touch an archer, he will get bumped. If you are just touching him without doing anything or blocking, e.g. with a shield, his shot will be canceled and he can not draw the bow.

Pff,buffing already (except range) most hatred and cowardly class in game,just wonderful,let's babysit all shielders so that polearms and 2h's became useless
