Post by: borisko on May 24, 2012, 02:33:01 pm

You can zoom out by pressing the - key, gives you a better view of whats going on around you.

- You don't look out for cav at all  I don't see you a single time checking what's going on behind you. Immediately after spawning start with it. You could have get lanced from behind very well, leaving the team without you without need. Look around!
- You don't try to survive. Although (or better: because) you saw three archers on a hill you just charged them. If you had been on your own, they could have spread out, taken you in the middle and hit in the back, because you can't divide yourself in three parts. You are really lucky the Byzantinums appeared.
- You don't look what your teammates do. This was especially obvious after you defeated the archers on the hill. Although it was only 9 of you vs. 5 of them left, which is still far away from a safe victory, you just ran away!  The moment after the first big fight, when it's about to kill the last few survivors is the most important time to regroup! It decides battles!
- You also didn't check the scoreboard. If the 5 enemy survivors were just "anybody" it wouldn't have been so tragic that you ran off. But if there are still "top players" alive, and you are not one of them yourself, stick to other people. Renegat could have killed you all one by one very well. You only won this round through luck.

This is just what i notice. You are the random autowalker-lemming. I don't mean to insult you, just make you think about it.

P.S.: You look like Kinngrim with a sword instead of pickaxe

@ joker86 maybe you are right about my gameplay. I can handle such criticism. But you know that is my style and i still have fun and enjoy the mod. and yes i'm using Kingrimms face and stuff to horrify people  :D

Note:  i will not put only my videos here. maybe i will open another topic as "How do people play c-rpg" and start to put some videos of known players of c-rpg.

Great idea ! The only bad thing is that you can't record their camera movement, and that's a big part of understanding how people play...

Btw if you want to mimic kinngrim take a pick, the military pick is longer and easier to use than the steel pick :D

What do you mean? If they move the camera they see it on the screen, and if they record everything which is on the screen we see it, too. Just look at the edges how the camera moves.

The only easy way I know of recording someone else playing is using spec mode. And spec mode only centers your camera around the player you follow, your camera doesn't move like that of the player, it doesn't show when he types, makes voice commands or checks the scoreboard...

To record everything would require the player himself to record and that is much more complicated.

Joker not very brain today

Veeeeery short posts.

Ah lol that's where the misunderstanding is! I thought it's about a topic where everyone puts his own gameplay videos in, for comparison purposes.

Well, I guess a paparazzi-thread about the VIPs in the community would still be fun, though

A teamkill and a hand full of vulture kills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw1nOByZoLs)

But well, it's supposed to show average gameplay, not a super-duper fragvideo.

In defense of myself: while having fraps running my game became somewhat slow, although the video doesnt stutter or something like that.  :P

A teamkill and a hand full of vulture kills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw1nOByZoLs)

Defensive, passive, boring, not very useful to the team at all. No initiative, no incentive to stand out and push at all and sucky melee. (your kills were just luck with glances, fails on the other part)

OP's video was way better then yours (even though it also was quite defensive in nature), so you really shouldn't say anything imo.

I am defensive and passive on purpose. And yes, I think on this map, with the narrow bridge, pushing would only mean to feed the meat grinder, and, as I stated on the other topic, I like to win maps. And not useful to the team at all? I was one of few who covered the back from cavalry. (your kills were just luck with glances, fails on the other part)

And my sucky melee is sucky, agreed

What did I say? Was one of the points I mentioned above wrong? Or did I say I am way better? He showed how he likes to play, I showed how I like it. You apparently like it the same way like borisko, that's perfectly fine. All I want to say is that good players like you, who basically always say "just charge and fight" would often enough get lanced from behind while fighting someone if there wasn't people like me who cover the back from cav or just try to stick together to support each other. Because it's enough if one of two tries to stick together to have them both sticking together

I accept the "boring", but not the useless.

I would like to make gameplay videos, but as soon as I record with Fraps my game goes slideshow mode.

You didn't do shit except running between some ganks where you weren't needed at all. I'd call that pretty "useless".

And you're kidding yourself if you think you protected anything from cav. Cav rode into you because they didn't think a step ahead when they charged blindly into your teammates - once again you just got lucky.

Protecting from cav =/= killing cav...

The fact that there was only little cav behind our lines doesn't mean you shouldn't have spearmen in your back. Or would say it doesn't matter at all to have a defensive line against cav at the flanks and the back?
