Title: Torchlight 2
Post by: Earthdforce on May 20, 2012, 07:25:49 am
Yeah, everyone who played the first one knows it's going to be a pretty amazing game, especially since it's only 20 bucks! Preorder it on steam, and you get torchlight 1 for free. Anyone else in the beta test this weekend?

I'm gonna try it. But i thought torchlight 1 had quite a few negative views.

My friend is trying to get me to buy this game but I fail to see what's so good about it. Just looks like another Diablo clone with a cost.... might as well get Path of Exile since it's free?

It's more like a clone of fate than diablo, but I definitely had fun in the beta. Veteran was just the right difficulty, and the deaths were quite satisfactory :D

Torchlight 1 became quite boring pretty quickly.
Just the exactly same monsters, colored differently, on random maps that still managed to look the same.

Dunno about the 2 though, but i certainly won't buy it full price.

Diablo 3 has left a bad taste in my mouth, I don't really feel like playing another beta anytime soon if you catch my drift.

I immediately pre-ordered a 4-pack when it was available on Steam a few months back.

I'm glad that Runic decided to hold off on release until the game was ready.

E: You also need to realize that these are pretty much indie-games, but the "end-game" concept is spot-on, with lots of awesome features that haven't been done in games, at least for a long time.  I'm very hopeful that TL2, being a larger production than the original, will be epic and I don't use that word lightly.  I think it'll push the genre forward, as opposed to going backwards to generate more money with less work.

I played the beta and really enjoyed it with my friends. My only  complaint was how the ranger has such short range with pistols which made me hate the class.
