Maybe it was a buggy hitbox. You know, where there's a bolt coming out of thier FACE, but somehow it's in their torso...I get that constantly.

There was no rain, I was uphill (not my much, but I was), and the bolt definitely hit him in the head. It showed the animation when you get hit in the head lol. That whiplash head jerk animation. The bolt showed clearly in his face. I think he was wearing lordly everything. I think I saw a Gothic Plate and his head armor being a top tier sallet or the armet.
Not sure it should be possible, even with rain, even uphill, even if they have lordly everything, to take a steel bolt from an arbalest to the head at 15 feet away. I mean at that distance, you have to make the shot count when infantry is engaging you, and if a headshot isn't enough, then...

Gothic plate w/bevor and a sallet and up gives you around 65 head armor, and that's unloomed.

It wasn't with bevor, and are you saying that a person should be able to take an steel bolts from an arbalest to the head at ~15 feet and survive?
I believe they shouldn't. It is the strongest ranged weapon in the game and if it can't kill via headshot at that distance, there is a problem. It really shouldn't matter what armor anyone does or doesn't have loomed or unloomed.

No I can survive 4 throwing lances, but not 4 bolts from the arbalest.
Also, reliable 1 hit kill at range is going to piss them 2 handers players to no end.

Anything that can kill 2h that is not another 2h, or polearm that acts like one, pisses off 2hs to no end.
Also, they lived off of luck. They were probably one of the 36-3 builds that are ever so popular these days. Sigh.
