Title: Who has the most style?
Post by: Tanken on May 14, 2012, 06:31:36 am: I'm not talking about who is the most fashionable or who has "swag" (whatever the fuck that is).

I'm wondering who among our players do you all believe has the best or most effective style when it comes to fighting and playing their character?

I'll throw up a poll for both NA players and EU players when we have some suggestions. Please include the player's name, why they are selected, and the server they play on because to be honest, I don't know the players across the pond that well so it will look like shit otherwise.

Some quick names I'm going to throw out there:
Robert Namo, he always seems to have a trick up his sleeve and his unorthodox play style makes him difficult to counter.
Miley, he/she switches weapons so many times it is hard to find out what they're going to play, and despite no head armor and a seemingly easy kill (appearance wise) always makes it a pain in the ass.
Galv the Executioner, seriously, fucks me up with an unloomed Practice Longsword and makes me look like an idiot.
Canary, lately I've seen him with a polearm a lot and as far back as I can remember, he has not only a good style of fighting, but he's also one of the best commanders I've seen in Strategus...just don't ever urge him to Surrender...(Yes that was me saying it on teamspeak a long time ago).
Rohypnol, I hate myself for saying it--but let's face it, he's the best at what he does, and Horse Crossbow is not all that easy to play.
Sosarian Knight, he's no longer a KUTT member, but I've never seen someone so dedicated to the Swiss Halberd and use it effectively.
Goretooth, there's a name you haven't seen on these lists very often. I liked his style much more with the Bec de Corbin than his MW German (??) he uses lately.

Alright, there's a lot of names I'm failing to mention and all of the above players are obviously NA. If you'd like to throw out some nominations and give a good reason as to why, I'd love to see what you can come up with.

Some of the Chaos guys are also pretty impressive. Rhyden in particular, along with a few guys (Dexxtaa, Saul) that I don't see playing any more. They're the sort of tough-as-nails players that I don't even go near unless I've got a group of friendlies with me.

I really like Goretooth's style too, actually. I always see him at the end of the round in that badass black armor, surrounded by 20 guys and holding his own. He's definitely Final Boss tier.

As much as it pains me to say it, I admire Huey, Hobb, and Kay of Sauvage for their spectacular champion courser skills. It's pretty fun to watch them flying around the battlefield at mach 3.

I think some of the NA samurai deserve a mention as well, particularly Mori and Redarrows. They've got a really unique style that I like a lot - I always see Redarrows taking down enemies with one well-placed attack then sheathing his sword and walking away like a badass.

When RandomDude leads a plated flamberger squad it's pretty awesome to behold, even purely from an aesthetic standpoint. Also as much as Vincent Ruth kills the shit out of me, you can't ignore that shiny shiny milanese sheen. Although I lost a little respect when he pounded my face in numerous times with a mallet. :mrgreen:

Agree that Bob has the most unique style in crpg cuz I honesty can't think of anyone else who str crutches as 1h swashbuckler

What Huey said, Canary has been playing for well over 2 years now and he's still gen 1.

Right, not to mention that I've also been playing for well over 2 years as I started a bit after Canary and I've never ever retired, I've just been changing my name a whole lot, almost every god damned weeks.

I dunno if we ever revealed this, but the expendable ninjas were me, Anders, and Madmac and maybe Lestos/Salfallen. I was 000, Anders was 001, Mac was 002 and those are all I know for sure.

Edit: We were also the Expendable Swiss Guards and Peasant Slayers.

I've only seen him score high on siege where he can respawn with his armor. He has a steel shield, but he blocks more hits with his face in a single round than that shield has been hit in its entire existence.

The closest thing I would be mad about concerning this is how he can blatantly leech and get away with it because he is in plate. Oh, and it disgusts me that he has the gall to talk shit to people while simultaneously armor crutching. Other than that, cool fellow. You however, troll :)

Also. NEO. He's like Larry Bird when he figured out that 3 pointers are worth more than 2 pointers and just ran with it.

He said it, no way around. Pebble Pusher was epic, he had MW stones and all that shit :D

Also, would like to nominate Phyrex, because he is not gay like most of the other permanent twohanders. Phyrex always tries to improve his abilities (or so it seems) and never lets a chamber go by un-counter-chambered.
