Hi, I am using this build for my poleaxe character:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)
Strength: 24
Agility: 15
Hit points: 69
Skills to attributes: 8
Ironflesh: 5
Power Strike: 8
Shield: 0
Athletics: 5
Riding: 0
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 5
One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 148
Polearm: 1
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1
The only problem I have with it is I already have 1 point in shield.
Am I better off leaving the point off power strike of should I leave it off weapon master.
Any help, much appreciated.

Put it in powerstrike. The benefits you gain from powerstrike are far more than what you would get from WM.
Alternatively, if you REALLY want that WM, you can drop a point from IF.

Cheers for the help.

I know it's probably a misteak, but that build has 2h wpf...
-
21/15 with 4-5 points in power throw and around 100 throwing wpf (more or less depending on your armor and PT). 1 point in shields isn't terrible if you play siege -- sure helps with that initial ladder push if you can put a piece of wood in front of you on the way up (then I just drop it).
"But I don't like throwing", you say.
"Learn to enjoy getting killed by cavalry then", I say.

I'd remove all points from WM, it's probably not benefiting you much. PS over WM all day, everyday [unless you're a hybrid].
-
its a poleaxe build. so cav will die, not you.
-
Wraist, im confused by your post, surely I need at least WM 4 for this build?
-
WM is not necessary for non-hybrids and non-heavy-armor-users (and the latter one is debatable). So, if you already have 4 WM, put the last point into PS instead of into WM. If you don't have any WM yet, just don't invest any points till level 30 and see how you like it. If you feel you swing too slow, you can still add them into WM, if not, put them into riding.
-
Nope you're all wrong you definitely need as much WM as possible because swinging your weapon .005 seconds faster makes all the difference in this molasses-speed mod, and not fundamentals like solid blocking. You're definitely not wasting skill points by putting points into WM, nope. That's why you don't see 27+ Strength/0 WM melee builds running around one- or two-shotting people because they think they can spam their way to victory with longswords or katanas, nope.

I have been struggling with blocking even though i have done all the tutorials and the vanilla duel server bots.
I was thinking of changing to this build to make things slightly easier:
* Strength: 21
* Agility: 18
* Hit points: 62
* Skills to attributes: 8
* Ironflesh: 3
* Power Strike: 7
* Shield: 1
* Athletics: 6
* Riding: 0
* Horse Archery: 0
* Power Draw: 0
* Power Throw: 0
* Weapon Master: 6
* One Handed: 1
* Two Handed: 1
* Polearm: 156
* Archery: 1
* Crossbow: 1
* Throwing: 1
Only problem I have is that so far this is my build:
Strength:19
Agility:15
Weapon points:3
One Handed:1
Two Handed:1
Polearm:133
Throwing:1
Crossbow:1
Archery:1
Weapon Master:4
Athletics:5
Riding:0
Iron Flesh:5
Shield:1
Horse Archery:0
Power Strike:6
Power Draw:0
Power Throw:0
Would it be ok to change to the 21/18 build but only have weapon master 4?
Thanks again for the help.

Unless you're dueling with a long maul you have WAY more WM than you need. You'll be more than fine with 4. WM is pretty pointless unless you're ranged a hybrid, or using an incredibly slow weapon (like a long maul).

Thanks, I take it Rhaelys is being sarcastic then?
