Goretooth ego got shot, he nerd raged and banned me. Was told by Ecko that shit talking was not bannable yet he raged and banned me. Check the logs for Ecko giving me permission to shit talk all I want, so I went ahead and did it.

If I had said something alot worse about Goretooth, then I would not care about the ban, but seeing as I said something that even the biggest of cry babies wouldn't take offense to, I think a perma ban is ridiculous.

Because while you are spamming chat, the rest of us remember your very memorable rages? I can be in the middle of battle or just spectating after death and your flood of angry comments usually dominates the chat in a most memorable fashion.
I fail to understand why you can not play the game in a civil fashion. I am not asking you to be nice, I am merely asking you to act appropriately. If I walk down the street I am not assaulted by a flurry of rude comments, so why should I be assaulted in a game where I am trying to relax?

Rational thoughts... but yet I can not see how these two parts actually apply. I cannot honestly sit here and say he has ever brought anything more to this community than absolute frustration for others who have to put up with his trolling. He and other Bks members have flat out admitted that they are trolling quite often and then bring up the very old and tiresome classic "it's just a game!" excuse for their behavior. For this reason alone, I refuse to say he is just relaxing, playing a game, and blowing off steam. If that were the case, he wouldn't act the way he does all the time.
I have never kicked/banned Bojangles or anyone else for similar behavior. Muted? Sure. Do I think acting that way makes someone a part of the community?... personally, no. I've heard enough rants and trolling about how cRPG is not Native and saying everyone who plays here sucks and is a roleplayer, etc, etc to believe Bojangles or any of the Bks members are exactly "part of the community" here. Forgoing that, I do actually prefer to play with people that have SOME level of maturity when it comes to their behavior. I mean damn... "it's just a game" or "it's the internets! COME ON!"... sure... but when you do nothing positive and simply frustrate others to no end... you start to fall into that category of nobody wanting to play the game with you and therefore bringing nothing positive to the community.
Do I think he should have been banned for making some rude comments? Maybe... maybe not. I was present for most of it but was not paying much attention to the chat. I know he was trolling hard at one point and then banned. It's not my call to determine if he should maintain a permanent ban though... but I sure as hell don't appreciate the constant rediculous behavior any more than the next person.

Well from what I have seen from BKS they are horribad tbh.
I mean I'm trying to be judicial in my understanding of it and have used the mute button on more than one occassion for alot of their members - hard to differentiate between them atm.
When it bothers me the most is if I see someone start team attacking, like raising weopons at team mates, attacking needlessly if they themselves were hit by a random unintentional swing from a team mate. Bad attitude, bad tempers, they're like a problem child you just wanna lock in a closet but can't because it's illegal and someone will find out you did it - somehow, someway.
Sure some of them are good players, have some skill. But I haven't seen many decent attitudes from them tbh. For the most part they haunt chat with tyranical nerdrages as well as team attack alot more than I ever think is allowable - but hey, I'm not the boss.
You're right the humour is dark, I'm forcing myself to see past something that's obviously a wrong. The rascism, it was excessive which pushes it past a joke - I know rascism isn't a joke I'm not retarded but in the right doses I find it humorous - guess I'm a villain.

ALL you guys do is start problems then attempt to lure people to native where you can duel them. From the outside looking in it's sad. I meant bad as in a bad attitude, this wasn't another opportunity to lure a duel. You wouldn't want to duel me anyways. Maybe your superiors, but not you.

I don't know you or knew your history till this thread was started but sounds like you got a very bad past in gaming and it didn't take you long to piss every player and admin you come across on the game just about. I only played 3 rounds at most with you and you got banned. I don't rage or care that much about getting trolled i'm used to it but you came into the server looking for a fight in the chat and don't doubt you'l ever change but like i said in the start another admin gotta take you off the list and i already said okay for the unban. Play the game and tone down the trolling/spamming/flaming in chat please.

The logs are kind of dumb because I had people TKing me over and over again for 3/4 of it, and the other 1/4 was me talking to ecko and he pretty much told me I could say all that stuff, the only thing relevant to this matter is the Goretooth comments. The stuff before it is me either talking to Lord Hasek who is practically BkS ( so it should not matter) and the other part is people who don't speak english TKing me while there was an admin around so I got kind of pissed the admin was doing nothing, so I was spamming chat to get his attention. When I mentioned the N* it was toward Hasek and he doesn't care, the dunecoon comment however was after atleast 5 rounds of being attacked by some Ishtar guys, so ye being TK'd over and over again is frustrating. The Goretooth comments from me and Galgorth were because Reaver was banned and they were not even bad. There was an admin in the server for all of this and I had no warning or kick or mute. Just a perma ban from Goretooth after a comment that is not even offensive. Goretooth said it was a 24 hour ban and he did ban me, and for the comments above that talking about ATS Ecko had given me permission to say what I want but you can't see the admin chat.

The reason i asked was because you said all the admins are shitty players. I doubted you knew who all the admins were so i wanted to know.

I had problems with some BkS guys in the past. I muted a few and it almost started a mutiny on the server (which was pretty hilarious). That said, the most obnoxious of the bunch was Bojangles, so I just muted him immediately. I don't see the need for a ban. Unless someone is making racist comments, I say just mute them.

I was Hippie Virtus (god damn it, I am going to regret revealing that). FYI I was actually in Black Shields for three months before I quit the game (Darkfall) permanently, which was just before they switched their tags to Zealot.

You then proceded to mute everyone of us instead of just trying to talk to us. I think you even kicked someone but I might be thinking of another issue. The entire server was even saying wtf...
But anyways we havent had an issue since and I think we all kinda figured each other out so its civil now....

i was on search's team, and i can verify that this did happen almost exactly as posted. However i will say one thing, BKS in general seem to troll and troll with the ultimate goal of getting punished and then exploding with anger about being punished. BKS is the fox news of Warband.

BKS lives solely for the purpose of luring people into 1 vs 1 native battles. It reminds me of Mcgruber where the guy kept putting his chest out and saying 'you wanna go!' - the old 80's adage. It's exactly like that, but worse cause they're being serious ingame about it and won't let up.
They have some good players though. I'll give them that. But not all of them, some. I dunno on this guy - never heard of him. I think he's a straggler.

I wont lie, we enjoy getting under peoples skin. It brings out the best competition, people see us and remember something we said and they try a little harder to kill us. I will agree that sometimes outside looking in it may seem like we are "nerd raging" or "chest thumpers" but really we are just "trollin" looking to get trolled back. BUT I dont know if its the community or what, you guys just take us seriously and use any small instance to try and "punk" us or something by bannings and mutes. Which is fine I am not taking sides, I just want fair treatment. I don't think that is too much to ask lol.
edit: about the 1v1 on native, we really only call people out when they say we aren't good or they are better so we ask for 1v1's and to us native is the most "balanced" in terms of a duel

I'd suggest just tone down the trolling and in your face talk. Not saying completely being a dead moth in chat but a few of your clanmates troll the chat looking for fights. Just ask once if they wanna 1v1 on a duel server don't push for it constantly every round.

The idea that "games" are solely for fun, is completely false. SOME people only play for "fun". I for one play for competition, to which BkS tends to give a lot of. What you guys need to realize is that warband, when compared to the rest of the current pc games, is a highly competitive game. When you run out of people to play you, the only thing left to do is to put on the face of a bad guy. It's because of this that people give them so much shit. Sure they troll but I shouldn't have to remind anyone that it's not against the rules to simply "troll".
I've also seen several instances of people purposely attacking BkS members, to which admins do nothing. This community in general has been pretty terrible towards them and whether BkS or Bojangles provokes or not, shouldn't matter. As far as the ban goes, that's about as unjustified as it gets, not surprising considering it was Goretooth who banned though. It'd be nice to see exactly what Ecko said, to help draw the perspective from bojangles' side. Still, Goretooth saide 24 hours, it's been much longer than that, just unban him already. Leaving this thread unlocked for people to simply say "I hate BkS and so does everyone else" isn't helping anything.
I'd also like to ask that all admins reserve the ban key for that which cannot be solved by a mute.

I find it amusing that people say we take the game too seriously, yet they're banning people for saying mean things over the intertubes.
They can't just play the game and relax without letting that mean kid in the corner getting to them, but we are the ones who take things too seriously?
It's a game. People are going to play differently -- some don't talk, some like to talk, but being a talker shouldn't get you banned. If you don't want to listen to someone like Bo, then hit esc, choose "mute player", scroll down and mute him and the problem is solved.
I understand some people don't like us, but I know there are a lot out there who do. We have people regularly target us and try to bring us down in whatever way possible, you guys have to understand that I have honestly tried being genuinely nice and civil but it's impossible when people are regularly coming at me and my clan. We play this game to compete, and we have fun doing so -- We "troll" (People saying mean things on the internet, how will any of you ever survive?) to illicit more competition because, quite honestly, we don't really have much at the moment, in native or crpg. When you've never lost a scrim and most of your members have never lost a duel series, the game starts to get dull, and you want whoever you're fighting to be wearing their tryhard pants at all times to improve to get better to challenge you. Not only does playfully taking shots at people achieve this, some idle banter makes the game more enjoyable and adds a bit of flavor to things that can otherwise become stale.
Stop taking everything so seriously, we're accused of being some sort of criminals but I can pretty easily say that a decent part of you, if we're criminals, are 80 year olds living in a retirement home yelling "TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN HEEERRRRR". Yeah, we cause a bit of trouble here and there, but those of you who have such a deep problem with it should really stop being such sticks in the mud and relax. Both sides can just recognize the other for what it is and live and let live -- if you don't like it, just mute someone, if you don't know how to mute someone you can PM me and we can go through it together, I'll fucking write you a tutorial on how to do it, I promise.
More on topic, I know some of you higher-ups at ATS have past experience with Bo from Darkfall, but honestly, I think letting that reflect onto his treatment here is a bit silly. This is a different game, and his offenses, if you can call them that, are relatively minor in this situation. Honestly, chat offenses should just result in mutes. I'd understand a ban if he was always tk'ing his team non stop or doing something to physically grief, but just because you don't like what someone says?

1) the open ended challenge
2) the chatty chat chatty
3) the skillz to pay the billz
4) the horrific offenses occured in said game DF
5) the use of adjectives to describe faces of color other than vanilla
6) the use of spamming attacks followed by ridicule upon success
These are only to name a few of the tomfoolery offences occurred on todays date and every day beforehand since the inception of BKS into our good and proper ranks and roster of upstanding members. Membership should come as a privelage not a demand! In the good words of LLJK - $10 please.

I always find the 'take things less seriously' argument to be a huge joke and not any point of defense to stand on. The reason many people play is to relax and have fun. When you intentionally instigate people, you are doing so HOPING they take your trolling seriously enough to give you their reaction. It just happens in this case, someone got frustrated enough with it they reached for the Ban button instead of Mute. Besides, just because some people like to explain their thoughts doesn't mean they are taking things incredibly serious... it just means they are actually using that thing between their ears before they speak on a subject.
When you want to troll, remember to be sure not to cross that line that will cause a reaction like the one with Bojangles... whether it is a knee-jerk or worse (see: Balton). Granted, in this case I was present for a majority of the events that took place and I didn't even reach for the mute button. I did ask in admin chat at one point for everyone to knock it off a bit and was going to kick for the TKs if they continued or mute people if things went further in-chat... but nothing happened immediately after that statement and I left right before the ban.
There are a lot of trolls in this community just like any other... but most of those trolls still make sure they don't completely piss off the entire community they are in by talking down to everyone and realize it IS just that, a community. Everyone in that community wants to log in, play, and have fun regardless of their skill level. The reason a large majority of people react poorly to the events like this one are because of the way a lot of the Bks players have acted towards them. This may be the vibe you want your clan to have with everyone, and that's fine... but don't be shocked at the overwhelming negative responses and willingness to do anything in your favor. This doesn't necessarily go for all BkS in all situations. I've actually seen moments of civilized chat in the game from a few members and Search always seems to be in non-troll mode when I've seen him type.
All that said - I don't take much of what BkS says/does seriously in any way, especially since they openly admit to the trolling. I also don't necessarily think he deserves a permanent ban over what happened and hope/assume that Devilize will lift the ban eventually when he gets back, essay or not. Each individual can mute players in-game... and admins can always just mute the player on the server when things are getting out of hand. It's when things get taken to another level that you will usually see the kind of reaction that occurred in this case. Just remember though, there are quite a few admins and it only takes pissing off one of them enough to get banned... and everyone has different tolerance levels.

Idk man, I think it's kind of telling when we're the ones sitting in vent enjoying each other's company and laughing, having a good time playing a game and other people are obviously so visibly upset that they feel the need to permanently remove someone from a server. Who's the one who needs to relax? I think if more people just took it easy and didn't take everything quite so seriously, things wouldn't really need to escalate. If I was walking down the street and some guy ran up to me and was like "OMG I'M WAY BETTER AT DANCING THAN YOU ARE," I'd say, "Great dude." and keep walking. I wouldn't run crying to Obama and ask him to be executed (banned from IRL) because he hurt my feelings.

Well whichever right. What you consider mature behaviour is actually childish and brutish tbh. Most people here are mature. I am not itnerested in arguing though. It's not my decision or my concern. If you guys were any easier to get along with I doubt this would even be an issue.

Right, but I would get a restraining order if said man did it to me every day multiple hours a day dozens of times an hour, and in this case likely would succeed considering said person does the same along with his buddies to the entire town.
Be civil, and we shall relax. Trolling is one thing, what Bo' did was just asking for repercussions.

Not easy when people constantly come at us because it is pretty well known we are, in fact, the best, so people feel a proclivity to act hostile towards us and use us a "notch" in their belt.
It's a video game. Let Bojangles play. Mute him if you must.
Keep in mind the logs don't show the people responding to Bo, nor does it show the fact that he was being TK'd (yet conveniently those tk'ing him repeatedly weren't so much as kicked.)
Whatever, I'm done arguing here. The only people coming to this forum are the people with a vendetta; most of the people who enjoy playing with us don't even know this thread exists, or the people who don't mind us aren't going to go out of their way to add their support. The only people who are going to vocalize is the people who have a vendetta or regular forum goers who happen to see the thread. This is not a winnable battle, as it's just a matter of opinion and at the end of the day, logic doesn't mean anything -- all that matters is the people who pay for the server get to enforce the rules when they feel like it and don't have to when they don't. Fair? Not really, but some people are apparently above the laws they set for others.
The "I'm the best" or things like that are said in all caps, obviously in a kidding attitude of someone enjoying themselves (gasp, imagine that, in a game, someone enjoying themselves), and the 1v1 requests are usually when it's obvious someone has an issue with one of us, so we ask if they'd like to 1v1, and no one ever does (Besides Mr_Pibb_ATS, props to him.). Absolutely nothing wrong with either of those.

The mute option is a beautiful thing. I know that permanent mute doesn't exist, but hey. It solves the issue of a person polluting chat. Either way, I don't like the idea of constant banning occuring to BkS for their tendency to "troll" on chat. They're active players, fun to play with/against. I don't find it hard to avoid letting their "trolling" make me rage, and as long as you don't take everything oh so serious, they aren't bad dudes. Also Harnius gives me highfives.

To be fair, I do enjoy playing with you guys, and I think you specifically do raise valid game issues and points in the in-game chat, I genuinely enjoy reading your chat comments as they almost always contain truth. However, I still think that Bo' crossed the line.
I really do enjoy playing alongside or against your clan as it always makes the game very tactical as you all have your heads screwed on right and are good players. But still, Bo' did a lot more then joke "I am the best" and unfortunately the jokes he presented did not go over as well as planned.
I appreciate that you guys want to have fun, but in this case, his fun did not "translate" very well.
I also think though that certain players who "accidently" TK certain clan mates of yours should be banned for a period too, as it is completely uncalled for.
But yes, the "mute" feature is a wonderful thing.

I probably would of joined BKS a week or two ago if I didn't suspect they were going to troll themsleves into a ban somehow. Pretty good clan imo. Plus I'm a nasty little troll at heart but nobody likes a troll....so I'm prescious and sweet and kind.

From what I have observed the BkS guys tend to just tell people they suck which isn't really mean and hurtful, people always tell others they suck at video games, it's been that way since the beginning of the internet. I really wish that the admins would be a little more reserved with the bannings. This isn't World of Warcraft where there are 8 million players, and with strategus down we are at risk for losing a big portion of the community already...

Am I wrong to have found amusement in his chat log? I said it, I'm not proud of it but tbh it was funny. Can't a guy relax and play a game. This isn't the real world its a steam vent - he was blowing off steam. It's not as though you can't mute him, if I'm not in the mood for his mouth I mute him, if I'm feeling randy I don't. Don't ask me what feeling randy is because I don't know. It's funny he brought topics from the forum into the game though. He is part of the community - troll or not. I doubt Goretooth was actually offended, cmon. Besides the living can't hear the dead, and Goretooth is typically the last to go down. Where as Bojangles...well he's always the first.

Agreed on all points. Some of us can toe the line sometimes, but toeing the line isn't against the rules.
I agree that Bo overstepped a bit here, even if the whole story isn't being presented or if the admin chat wasn't visible in the logs -- The server rules clearly don't allow racism. Bo was being tk'd repeatedly and attacked without so much as an admin asking the offenders to stop, and I still feel like I have no argument against, nor should I try, to respond to the racism. Some people call that an "absolute" line, and while I personally believe that a word is just a word, I respect the fact that it really does hit a cord with some people so I do avoid it and expect other BkS to, as well, but Bo will be the first to admit he did kind of overstep on the racism. I would have been fine with a mute, I wouldn't have said a thing, I feel anyone who breaks a rule (BkS, ATS, or any random player) should recieve a matching punishment -- but come on, this is a bit much, and some offenders get a "slap on the wrist" in vent for things we get bans for.
Harn, cleverly disguised in cRPG land as Garthicus Shooticus, is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Seriously.
But even he has a good time in vent and while he isn't one to talk much in-game, it kind of shows you the lack of malice we have in our words when such an obviously stand-up, good guy like Harn has such a good time with us. He's an awesome guy.

Really, at the end of the day, that's all it really is -- We like to have fun, and people may take us wrong sometimes, but.. It's the internet, man. You're right, people are going to be saying things like "lol you suck" until Al Gore turns the switch off. srsly guys. srsly.
Besides, I don't think there should be a punishment for being honest. If my girlfriend asks me if her dress makes her look fat, and it does, I'll tell her yes. If she gets mad I'm not going to be a bitch and say "omg babe im so sorry" -- I was being honest, and honesty is the mark of a good person. If someone (who wasn't trolling) said genuinely that I suck, I don't take it personally, it drives me harder to improve. Haters gon' hate, though.

The Native issue was in accordance with the Goretooth issue last night, there's a different thread up about it.
However, Goretooth has since manned up and agreed that himself, Native AND Vanidar were all at fault, so it's really a moot point at this stage other than talking about the "wrist slap" comment.
Any respect I had lost for Goretooth for taking such a hasty and unfair action was regained as soon as he was willing to say "Hey man, I may have made a bit of a mistake, my bad" instead of acting perfect. + respect to him.

Tbh it's common curtesy ingame to just simply apologize for a tk whether you meant to or not after you die or at the beginning of the next round. Being ATS does not put you above this simple courtesy it binds you to uphold this honorable task. Apologize now or forever hold my hatred.
