Title: Weapon holding time limit and JUMPS!

Why dont we put a limit on how long can you keep your wepon in swing ready position, depending on the weight
and/or
Why dont we remove abillity to swing a wepon while in midair (somethign like bows today)to all wepons and shield whose weight is higher then x value, or instead of removing it completly, we puut speed penalty also depending on weapon weight

The limit on the swing ready position would only  be important if the time-frame was very short, like 3-5 seconds. It doesn't seem useful anyways. Swinging a weapon in midair should be removed, or limited somehow.

There should be a limit on holds.  I have never thought about that before.  Most people don't do it but sometimes I get that guy who will just hold that stupid attack for 20s waiting on backup to arrive.  Quite annoying.

Would ruin too much, it's of no benefit for anyone this way.

On midair swings however, a reasonable idea is keeping overheads, but taking other directions away while jumping.

Removing swing in midair would just gimp flamberges even more.

Jump slash is the only thing saving me in cluster fucks right now.

My ninja character's jump slash is amazing!  Don't nerf please!  Also your other suggestion would remove his battle pose, holding a stab as he charges into the fray!

Yeah i mean the longest 2h weapon (and one of the slowest) that loses much of its reach by only actually having 1 2h animation, the other 3 being polearm.

The same weapon that's so long it gets stuck on everyone and everything whether it's in front, behind, to the side, wherever.

Ohh, you think you can swing your flam because you cant see anyone behind u? Nope. A friendly 1h has come to back u up by clinging to your ass with his shield raised. All of your blows will connect with his shield now. Fuck all u can do about it.

The same weapon that it's pointless to chamber with bcos the return swing is so slow that unless the other guy is asleep, he will block it.

The same weapon that you have far less time to react and block bcos of its slowness.

The same weapon that gimps you in duels vs the other main 2h weapons, eg greatsword, unless u prefer to just hold s key and right swing and hope the other guy will eventually fall for it.

The same weapon that if you chamber block some1s overhead, they can actually side swing you before your overhead connects.

Yes, this is the weapon I am talking about. The really over powered one that everyone uses bcos it is so cool and has no flaws.

I did a test. The left swing of the flamberge has the same reach as the left swing of a Danish.

I feel a good compromise would be to make it feel like an unbalanced weapon if you hold too long, so the longer you hold you become much more predictable and can't feint properly afterwards.

Another would be to decrease damage or something, but that doesn't sound any better than what we have now.


Jumping is pretty gimmicky, but how can we change it in a way people will accept? Reduce instantaneous speed you get when you jump? Limit swings?
I would like it if you need more of a running start than we have now to jump, or you won't be able to jump in a certain direction very far. Clumsily jumping (especially backwards) shouldn't reward someone with that much speed.
Either way, not many people jump, and it's only good when fighting against shorter weapons.

Because jumping around is fun. The funnest fight I ever had I jumped a guys German Poleaxe and he smashed his friend behind me and then I belted him in the head and one shot him, was some hilarious ninja shit.

Who here hasn't had fun hurling themselves down hills and off ladders hacking at peoples heads.

If you think flamberge is an overpowered weapon, please trough away your keyboard nuthead. Taking away jumpslashing and stabbing will just make it even harder to fight cav, but ofc that would be really nice to all you cavs there, why not just double the damage on bumps and make people unable to block while jumping so you can rack up even more easy kills?

how about why should we change them in the first place?

Sounds like a lot of work for no good result.  I see no compelling reason to change anything.
