well, i've heard different people say different stuff about how much damage is done to each region wth different weapon types.
So first of all; is there any difference in the bonus from hitting head with the different damage types? afaik tehre isn't, but now i just want to be sure.
second; how much dmg is done to the legs?
I've heard people say it's the same as body, i've heard people sya it's half the damage and i've heard people say it's 75%... what is true?

Damage depends on skeleton bone hit, not on generic "regions".
head bone: melee 120%, ranged 210%
thigh/calf bones: 90%
every other bone: 100%

are you telling me that a head hit is only 1,2*dmg?
-
Hm... 1,2 isn't "only". For me, it is really noticeable amount of dmg. For example: 20 dmg in chest, 24 in head (example, without any other calculations!). If target has 23 hp, he'd survive first type of hit, but not second. =D

I always thought the thigh came under the body hit area and that only the knee and under was the 'leg' area, well I was told so anyway.

I'm not sure if they fucked up or something, but thigh and calf get damage reduction, foot doesn't.

so hitting the foot still does 100% dmg?
this sounds weird, but interesting though

Yup, hence why every good archer always shoots for the feet of low-skill shielders, as it is a double-whammy.
-
In native I though foot was 50% is it that different here?
-
Piercing weapons do triple damage to the head. 8-)
-
Yea shouldn't hits on the legs deal 50% less damage? I mean who would die from a crossbow bolt in the foot lol.

Achilles?

Nope, urban legend.
-
I remember suggesting in Native beta that piercing damage should get a bonus for a head hit. Of course it was not implemented.
-
Thats weird I can one shot pretty much everyone no matter the helmet they wear with a stab to that face, but not with a slash.
-
Because piercing dmg of bolt passes armor, + 210% of dmg from head bonus and here you are.
-
I'm not so sure there's a piercing bonus on the head either, atleast not triple. I know for a fact that people in non-top tier armor have survived my overhead gen1 bec to the head with 11 PS. According to the dmg calc 33 str/11 PS/38 piercing to 40 armor does 53 average, if it was 3x then the total damage would be 159, which would be no way survivable. There does seem to be a damage bonus, because head hits with piercing are definitely more deadly, but 3x is too much I think.

Maybe WaltF4 could make a lab test to demonstrate these figures.
LOOKING FOR: guinea pigs ready to receive repeated blows to the chest, feet and head. We look for resistant subjects since he/she should stay alive to report his/her impression to the tester.

I have 59 hp, and can afford any armor in the game if needed. I can do this if needed.
-
Eeeer, that was a joke actually.

Meh, was hard to tell. I already vol' to be a shooting dummy/spin-stab starget for a good 2 hours last week for tests from a player wanting to try out stuff.
heh
-
Remember, dmg is a random number from 100% to 50% of weapons dmg so such test will never be accurate.
-
One thing i've always wondered is will it make a difference in damage if you stab with a polearm and aim it for their face, or if you stab them in the stomach?

Yes, limbs (not feet or hands) are .8 damage multiplier, head is 3 damage multiplier, and everything else is standard.

No and no, read my post above.

I stand corrected.

I can agree with this, I shoot sheilders in the foot all the time and if I can hit them in the foot twice even with heavy greavers they die, compared to me shooting them in the chest/leg it takes 3 - 5 arrows to kill them.

Keep in mind too that people often have higher body armor than leg armor, which plays a role, same thing goes for the head.
