Title: Class you dislike fighting the most?

It's been about 7 or 8 months since I last did this, so I am fairly curious on how the poll would look now after so many patches for the people who play on [EU] or [NA] servers. I'm interested in seeing if some types will be higher or lower after semi-recent events and if people have found new rages.

Two votes per voter, may change votes.

Feel free to give the usual rants or cries for nerfs and buffs like last time.

Are there any classes/types that used to aggravate you but are fine now?

To me it's a close tie between Throwers and Poles.

I can't decide if I hate polestagger more or the fact that my head is an axe magnet.

Now i bought long war axe so shielders run away but arrows and bolts still fly after me :mrgreen:

Now that I have a courser, HA are less of a problem.

Pikes only start to show up when I take a pike myself (tested)

Less throwers than *before* (vaguely), so I have less things to worry about than *before* while riding.

1h leftspammers are ugly and stupid, and can't manage a good hold. It's just very boring and tedious to fight them.

2h agiwhores are irritating when they pretend being pikemen, but I got used to that.

Polestagger abusers I'm ok with. This mechanic is needed in group fights anyway. But GLA/whatever hiltslashers are still ugly and stupid.

Plate + crushthrough guys are my logical counter on foot, I can run away from them anyway and furthermore they are easy to kill from horseback.


In the end, the classes I dislike "fighting" are xbowmen and bowmen, because I never actually "fight" them. Either they shoot at my horse and it dies in 2-4 arrows/bolts max, either I backstab them. And I explained why I hate having to kill archers when I'm on foot in another thread.

Mainly I dislike fighting Cav (especially shitty cav on my team, even though I don't fight those -_-), and Horse Crossbows.

voted for shielders because of their almost indestructible permablock(I have no fun in fighting them that way) and voted for cav. Well, because it's cav.

Horse archers, agile throwers,2h who use macros,maulers,shielders with 13 shield skill and steel pick. Those ppl ruin this mod.

Poll is too limited. Obvious answers for me as infantry without a shield are archers and cav. One can attack me without being in my reach, other can attack me while being only briefly in my reach.

My character of 1h-axe/shield/thrower has no weaknesses so I don't mind who I fight :).

Well actually thinking about it is only weakness is polearm uses with bigass poleaxe/halbred weapons that destroy my shield  in like 4-5 hits. I voted cav (for being backstabbers) but I'd change it to poles.

I picked NA cav for the horse crossbow.  Regular cav I dont have to much of a problem with unless there are to many.

I also picked NA polearm because of the double hit pole stagger potential.  That paired with superior range, heavy armor, and being able to break a masterwork huscarl in 3 hits is horribly imbalanced.

I dislike fighting throwers on EU because my ping is around 200+

It sucks to dodge a jarid, then bounce backwards like you are a rubber band and suddenly you have a spear in your shoulder and you've lost all running momentum. Boing-oing-oing you dead!

Hate having tons of cav on either team. Nothing like spawning three seconds into a match and dieing instantly to enemy cav that are camping your team's spawn.

It all depends on what im doing at the time.  I do something different every gen so theres not something I dislike universally.

Except cav who always aim for your horse.   Thats a trait of some cav, not really a class.

Anyways, I think thrower is the most aggravating to fight since they usually do way too much damage if they're pure thrower, and they don't even need to gain momentum with their projectile. The most annoying class is cavalry of course, though.

Honestly, for me when it comes to classes I dislike fighting I tend to dislike fighting 2h more than anything else.

I think people's responses will vary based on the class they play most often and what classes counter them. As a 1H shielder, I hate people who use a polearm, face away from me, do a complete 180 and stab me in the face within a fraction of a second. They're second, however, to maulers who I'm unable to get close to without being knocked down and raped. Cav are annoying but can be countered if you're clever about using the environment to your advantage, or if you can feign ignorance of their presence and use their false sense of security to turn the tables on them.

(Dedicated spear user) dislike fighting [NA] 2H and [NA] Other (1H no shield) the most.  The speed is simply incredible, a good player will just toy with you and there's not much you can do but feint back and hope a teammate shows up.


I'm not crying for fixes but that's who I dislike the most since they're very strong, without necessarily being any more skill based than some other classes.  Yes the strength does have to do with my own chosen gear so what can you do.   :P

I'm a 2hand cutter, and  don't like polearms or throwing. Polearm because of the weird dance they do when attacking, and the fact that some stabs just don't look like they should be hitting (but they do), and throwing because my usual ranged dodge tactics never work, likely due to the fact that they're way more steady and accurate. Not OP, just annoying. Also, I love fighting cav on foot with my miaodao.

As hoplite, I hate fighting other polearms.  They usually have every advantage over me (particularly length of weapon).

As Horse Archer, I dislike Horse Crossbowmen (I voted "Crossbows"), who have every advantage but attack speed.  Even that slight advantage is nullified by their easier aiming and greater maneuverability.

I was thinking that if I included everything, people's eyes might glaze over and skip the poll, though it might have been better if I made two threads, one for EU and one for NA.  :lol:

Why you apologize to Phazh? I hate fighting him when he's mounted. Obvious abuse of game mechanics, two shields on horse...

And dismounted he uses Elite Scimitar... luckily I figured out how to fight that weapon, had huge troubles before.

Phazh is a good man but as a player (I'm talking about playstyle not Strategus or whatever), Phazh = Kinngrimm. Both are smart players, but I would never go that far in exploiting obvious flaws of this mod.

You, and many people it seems, don't understand the true ISO standardised and uniformed class separation RFC 5656213 :

HA and HX are subgroups of archers and xbowmen, they aren't cav !

Therefore I call this poll bullshit. Cav would be much lower if HA and HX weren't missing.

sure... great maul should be stopped by archer's hammer... Why shouldn't your slow, unbalanced and very fucking heavy weapon that slows you down crush through block. reveal that to me. If horses have 0 leg armour because it's "realistic" but lance can be blocked by simple downblock or fist-chamber then why shouldn't great maul crush through... the maulers are slow and have small range. You can easily run away or outrange them. Stop the rage about them. Their crush through is actually the only benefit and a reason why they are maulers.

As a 2H cut/blunt...

HA/HX are just annoying.  You don't really "fight" them, they just run from you and you can't catch them on foot.  And they don't ever seem to be that effective other than being the last one alive in Battle.  In Siege they don't amount to shit.

Other 2Hers who have the lolstab animation, just because they can always outrange me with the stab.  But that's on me - I just have to be more aware of what I'm fighting.  The spinstab is annoying as shit tho.

Anyone that abuses the jump glitch alot (where you swing right thru their body when they jump-spin).

Stealth-from-behind-Cav.  Of course you don't really "fight" them either.  They just couch you from behind and you never hear them coming.  Other than that, Cav are not that annoying imo.

Spamitar/shielders are probably the most annoying for me.  Either that or 1h hammer/shielders, but of the two spamitars are worse.

High-Agi polearms with either spears, awlpikes, becs, or halberd types are a pain 1v1.  That godam 1-inch turn/spin stab is huge BS.  Plus the polestun & hiltslashing.  This coming from someone who has also been polearms for 2 Gens.
Pikers/lancers are a pain in a group, impossible to block other melee plus a piker who can hit you from a mile away through their own team.  Also the fact that they can stab you through doors, gates and around corners = winsauce.

Archers, Xbow, Throwers are annoying mostly because I get hit by enemy as well as 'friendly' range usually right when I'm in the middle of a good melee fight.  Other than that I can expect to get hit by them when I'm in the open or going up ladders/ramps.  But then other times I sneak up on them from the side or behind - so we come out in a wash there.

Friendly cav, of course you don't fight them, but they're annoying due to trying to KS and end up bowling you over just before you make that last killing blow, or of course all the friendly horsebumps that take off any variety of %'s of life depending on how hard they hit you.

If a new poll were to be made, we'd really have to have separate options for agi and str builds.
