Title: Leaving the game, giving away looms!

Because I'm mad at this game and play it way too much as of lately I decided to quit.

I hate you all, some more some less (few don't but thats different story) but if you're able to say something really nice about me I'll consider giving you some of my looms.

Here's what I've got:

Lordly Rus Splinted Greaves
Lordly Sarranid Guard Armor
Lordly Scale Gauntlets
Lordly Vaegir War Mask
Masterwork Bodkin Arrows
Masterwork German Greatsword

I am genuinely sorry to see you leave, as I enjoy your presence in game and out.

I suggest you keep your looms in case you decide to come back a year later, but I do hope that you enjoy leaving c-RPG and enjoy whatever you plan on filling that time with. Best of wishes to you, I can understand leaving if you are experiencing burn out or are no longer having fun.

I am a bit skeptical, I don't think you'll leave! But if this is really true, then I guess I'm a bit saddened. You're one of the old dirtbags and I enjoyed having you around. Please re-consider, in any case. :(

Regarding looms, I can safeguard them for you until you decide to return. I've been without looms for almost about 6 months except for my MW German GS that was lent to Nasturtium and still hasn't been returned. I want to have nice things too. :D

Scary fact:

129.8 hrs past 2 weeks or 9.3 hours per day!!! (this is the record)

I work from 9 am till 5 pm. At 2 pm I usually don't have anything to do at work so I play this when no one is bothering me (sometimes go afk for awhile because someone is calling me, something to take care of etc.), I play till 4:45 pm and then go home. At 5:15 I'm already home and I continue with playing. When I'm dead I grab something to eat or finish thing that needs to be done. Play basically till 2 or 4 am with some brakes (hour or two). Doing this, more or less for past month or more. Haven't seen parents, friends and family for 3 weeks. Maybe I'm not really playing for 9 hours every day, sometimes its 5 with game being active while I'm afk, sometimes its 9 or 10. Still, its way too much and not normal at all! This shit is addictive while not being rewarding at all. It's time to leave this all behind.

Best of luck to people who are in similar situation but won't stop with this madness.

I will put your name in each shaft of every arrow and my enemies will see your name as they look down to their abdomen and approach death.

in other words, they will be put to great use!

Also these arrows will go into KUTT's safe-guarded Loom Library so if you ever return you can have them back.

That sounds frighteningly similar to when I fucked up school, I would play almost literally during my every breathing moment not spent eating, shitting, sleeping or being in school. I am still playing these days, but thankfully I am aware of this game's tendency of fucking your priorities up.

But to be perfectly honest Leshma, I would hate to see you leave. God's honest truth. Maybe I'd even tempt you with a loom or something, but then again I wouldn't really be doing your life a favour :lol:. I'm not going to beg you, but are you sure you wouldn't mind staying around for a bit longer for this poor old jerk's sake?

I suggest that you merely uninstall the game and walk away, focus on something else once you remove the temptation to fire up c-RPG with a mere click of the button, then come back once you figure out what is going on in your life that has caused this behavior. I'm afraid that if you play c-RPG this much, you might soon find something else to "fill in that hole" until you find the root of the issue, and that leaving c-RPG will only temporarily fix this until you find another "thing" and then the same problem will arise.

You sound like a classic addiction case though, just learn to enjoy things in moderation. I would recommend you to incorporate some sort of daily activity, quick cardio, bike-ride, take a walk, whatever would make you do something else than stay inside and play MNB.

Could I have the horn bow?  My friend has an archer as his main and I'd like to give it to him.  I also wouldn't mind the rus splinted greaves, I think they look cool.   I don't know who you are, but you're clearly a nice person for giving away looms.  You're probably very good looking as well.   :mrgreen:

edit:  also if you came back I would return any looms given to you and not sell them.

I would love your Lordly Rus Splinted Greaves, however I do not think you should give them away. You probably will play soon again, this game is just hell of a fun even if I do often rage... I also played 100 hours last two weeks, my record was around 140 before. :P

I made an archer char a few weeks ago trying to get into it, but it seemed pretty gimp without heirloomed bow/arrows. I would really appreciate either the arrows or horn bow. (or both)

I don't even know who you are, but giving heirlooms away is the kindest thing you can do in this game.

I will revere you as the kindest person in cRPG, and shed tears daily that I didn't have a chance to know you better my friend.

I vote with tears just uninstall and walk away, right now you're probably overwhelmed wth everything and you've invested a lot of time in this game don't just give that up. Take a break and balance things out for awhile then come back and play with some moderation.

Ya know, I watched a kitchen nightmares and this dude had a restaurant - but worked maybe 4 hours a day because he was playing a game. I strongly suspect it was a cRPG player. (Spoiler :P - Well they apparently turned around the restaurant, saved the family ties and all, but could not overcome the debt that had accumulated - which was a bummer, I was rooting fo the guy).

I strongly suggest at the least a hiatus of two months (nothing much will change, maybe the prick devs will nerf athletics more, but w/e) and FIND something else to do. If you return, limit your playtime. If you don't return, good luck to ya.

Anyways if you're that addicted to the game, giving away all your looms is the right solution. Especially to people you dislike...it's...therapeutic? It symbolizes how the grip on the game over you is destroyed by fuck it gimme your looms.

I don't really know you, but my brother is the same... kinda.
He's a programmer from "nature" and he hates to spend his time on playing.

But, when he starts to play, it takes around a week for him to tell himself "Enaugh, I am wasting my time, I am stopping playing, and getting over with something productive"... That's why he hasn't retired even once.

And when I get bored of a game, or something makes me quit it, I never write any qutting thread, or anything similiar to that.
That's because after a period of time, you will most likely come back to it. And then, why getting on a new character, when you've spent so much time working all this stuff out.

Of course, you may always donate your "work" to people, so that they are happy  :mrgreen:

I'm sorry to see that a reasonable guy no more feels like playing a good game, because of the amount of trolls playing it. But this might be a wise decision if you feel like you will be better without it. Getting rid of those retards in your life can not be a bad idea, no matter what. However I enjoy the game so much that I personally choose to ignore the retards, and I choosed to play the game. So I suggest you to think again before giving your looms away. I hope you will give this a second thought, but not a third thought. As I say, reducing the level of retardiness in your life can never be a bad idea.
This kids should learn some kind of respect, but that is expecting too much from them. So I choose to ignore them, rather than arguing with them to maintain my sanity.

I will also say nothing nice but something true, changing your life by radically changing your habits is a bad way to start.
Learn to control yourself, set a limit to how much you play and stick to it.

Going cold turkey is a bad approach on this situation.

Leshma, I did talk to you much but im glad to hear you made this decision.
Not becouse i want to see you go, but you did spend way to much time on this game and you seem to be having less fun and more frustration like you said your self.
A brake, or a total stop might be good, altho i suggest you keep your looms for the time beeing till things calm down.
You never know if you come back with a differnt mind set.

From me and the GK's i wish you the best and hope to see you return one day in this game or another.

Don't give your looms away, I'm quite sure you will want to come back wand play moderately, but if you give away your looms now you will slap yourself when it happens...

And if you really do want to force yourself to leave by giving away your looms, maybe you could give them to trustworthy people like Meow or myself (yes, I'm trustworthy, and if you think I'm a bad person for saying it, fu) that would give them back to you when (or in case) you come back.

Just play less, don't quit it altogether. I doubt you can go from playing up to 10 hours a day to playing it nothing at all, no offense meant. Just play it moderately, take breaks if you get frustrated while playing. No reason to play this game if you don't have more fun than you can get by doing something else like being with friends or go for a nice walk.

still unsure if you're serious or not, but I advice you to not gove your looms away. Have fun with whatever you decide, I always found you a decent guy and therefore hope you decide on what's best for you

Nothing new, except that i believe Meow and Gurnisson are right on one point.
Dramatically changing your habits is not the solution.
And you do indeed spend a bit too much time on cRPG at the moment, definitely.
Take a week break, to find what others activities you may like, then come back, and split your free time between all thoses new uncovered activities, and playing computer.
So keep your looms, and see you in game. ;)

A few and wise have stated that abruptly ceasing to play will not lead to any desired effect or result as you are not leaving because you have tired of the game, rather because you feel it burdens you. Simply play less, balance your free time and do other things.

I have always been a strong proponent of the concept of ''balance''. Less is more, more is less.

Anyone would tire or eventually feel sick from eating too much candy.

Leaving this game might just get you addicted to an another game like gw2 or similar with the fresh new grind that would be even harder to make stop than crpg.
Atleast in here you would notice when your playing too much and could limit it.
Also with such items already, you shouldn't need to grind so much.

I once quit gave all my looms to highglandeur, came back couple months later and he gave me all back except one he gave to Franky which he sold, there are some decent people on c-RPG, not all are hyenas.

Btw : give the bow and arrows to me and the armor/melee wep to Tears and Meow.

Well I can put that +3 horn bow to good use too. I will also have a +3 Yumi. So it will be easier to compare two items, for the sake of the discussion "who uses yumi?". So, there will be some actual experiment in the discussion.

I want to get the bow and arrows because I very well know I will not use it. It also know that Meow and Tears probably won't use a 2h or heavy armor.

As you can see, all gone to Meow. Maybe he'll give it back if I return, maybe he won't.

I'm not losing in any case. If he decides to give them he'll just prove that he's one of the most trustworthy and caring people in this community.

If he decides to keep them for himself, of well, no reason for me to ever come back. Not because I don't have any looms but for entirely different reason. Who would like to be part of a community where, people who are considered the best, are actually selfish. What to think of the rest?

Anyways, thanks for all the good wishes, truly honest and those less honest. Don't have the time to answer every single PM I've got, thanks for that as well. I'll just say that I've enjoyed playing with those people who sent me PM where I'm advised to reconsider  giving away looms.

And about those who care what will I do next, I'll just say that I made sure that I won't exchange one game for the other by choosing OS where games aren't supported very well.

Maybe I'll see you in few months but that doesn't matter really. People who leave for good are forgotten pretty fast and those who stay only matter. That's how it is

Sorry if some of you are disappointed by turn of events, but truth to be told I'm not really sorry if you feel cheated for not getting anything out of this little thread.

Hopefully Meow will at least stick to one part of the bargain...
