Let's admit it. This would be fun and awesome.

Player A and B pools 20k gold each, total 40k.

Whoever wins gets it all!

Will crpg finally get real pool hustlers?

Imagine duels for 1 million gold! Would be epic.

I think I'd rather do something like...

You can assign how much gold you want to put up.

When you look at someone, the "F to challenge" popup text also shows how much they want to bet.

Both players bet the lower amount.


So if I want to bet 20k and you want to bet 1k, we will be fighting over a pooled value of 2k.

It would be a bit silly to just pool it (I risk 20k, you risk 1k) and a bit tedious to have to stand there and negotiate.  Just set the value you like and look for anyone willing to fight you.



You could maybe set "odds" though.  1:1 is default but you can change that.  If I bet 50k at 5:1 odds, it means you'll only put up 1/5th of whatever I'm putting up, so your max bet will be 10k.

Whenever there is money involved ,digital or real.
There will be anglers, sharks, shady dealings.
If dueling for gold will look anything like playing HU poker, there will be 50 "pros" refusing to play eachother , waiting for suckers to come along.

Duels for gold can be played today, between gentlemen.
And gentlemen pay their debt, like Lanisters :)

And if you doubt the honur of your opponent, use an escrow.

Would like to see more fun things to use gold for tho, how about an official crpg gold lottery.

I think giving people the option to bet on their duels is a great idea and I don't know why it hasn't been implemented before.

It wouldn't stop most of the "non-profit" dueling, since most people go to duel servers to improve/play anyway, of course there will be some who stop dueling to hide their skill before the fight, but that's their loss.
