So, voting is fun, right?
If you press Q M U / D ingame, you can either upvote a map or downvote a map.
We have had this function for a long time now, but never really used it. We're going to try and use it more, to see which maps are liked, and which aren't. It will mainly serve as benchmark (looking over some previous weeks, about 6 maps showed 0 or positive votes, the rest was in various degrees of minus) but it might lead to other interesting things in the future (such as rotations based solely on it, for example).
I highly encourage players to vote on maps, especially if you like a map. It's easy to just downvote what you don't like and forget to upvote what you do like.
Each player gets 1 vote per map every 24 hours, positive or negative.
Happy voting!

Good. Though I dont like that I have been QMDing all this time with out it making any difference :(
-
Hopefully this works out okay. I think like most things, people don't give praise, they complain when something doesn't work, or they dont' like something. For the most part if something is working properly, or people like something, they don't go out of their way to say anything.
Like with the forums, you mainly get crpg players who come here to complain about something, not people coming on and posting threads saying "this mod is great, don't change a thing". In the IT field no news is good news, I'm thinking you have to assume that with map voting and the forums as well.
For every one person who complains about a weapon or equipment or class being overpowered, I'm sure there's at least 5 or 10 others who think everything is just fine.

I am frightened what other amazingly awesome ideas that make so much sense they are hiding on the back burner waiting to be implemented many months later (if at all)

"My grandpa sells condoms to sailors
He punctures the tips with a pin.
My grandma does back-street abortions
My God how the money rolls in!"
...Bump I mean.

I qmd/u some time now. Will continue to do so, I guess.
Good for you Jacko.

Happy to see this feature being used.

Also, would like you guys spread the word in servers.

I'll be sure to make periodic announcements when the "this map suuuuuucckkkkkss!" complaints are being tossed out

QMU/QMD'ing as requested!
I'm uber-interested to see results, specifically the differences between NA and EU preferences.

Well pitfall is win either way.

Need a way of down voting all uphill siege maps god damn they are the worst.
-
Everyone is still just going to downvote everything -_-

Maybe, but we decided to remove all the maps with negative result. So remember up vote atleast couple times, so we don't need to play the same 3 maps.
-
so qmd/qmu actually work? i thought devs disabled those to prevent abuse?
-
Can we put some kind of automessage at the start of every map?
"Please do not forget to up- or downvote the map you like /dislike. Maps with too many bad votes will be removed!"
or similar.. many just do not know about it yet if not reading forums.

Once every 24h ? I thought you could only do it once, so i did it once for most of the maps i really liked or disliked, but you're telling me i can actually vote every two days ?
