Title: Arbalest Delay

So this gen I'm going to be a sniper turret, so I've used the arbalest naturally.
As I go around to get in position, I notice that in a desperate attempt to shotgun (no melee stats or enough athletics to run) I find the crossbow delays long enough to become a bloody mess of loc guts on the floor.

It doesn't seem to do it at a distance, so I was wondering what causes the delays and why?

you shoud hold arbalest a bit with pressed left button, to shotgun later with no delay. It is like you prepairing to shot.

You're using a howitzer, what more do you want?
Explosions on impact?
Enemies turn against one another?
Dildo Projectiles?

A clanmate showed me how to shotgun with the Arbalest:

Strafe left-right when shotgunning, it seems to shorten/remove delay.  Delay is only present when moving forwards.
