Title: Donations to keep me poor.
Post by: Callan on April 23, 2012, 06:01:38 pm
HEY GUYS!

It's that time again, I'm very poor and need some support from the community because of my heavy armor and horse fetish.

I propose that someone would pay me c-RPG gold to go pitchfork cavalry on a sumpter for a full generation.

Any takes? I need the money :)

That guy just made me realise the sumpter horse is probably the cRPG item with the absolute worst value for money ratio ever.

I feel like it's necessary to point out that the Wakizashi comes in a close second.

i had 7k,and i used lance, palace armor, bascinet, rouncey, mail mittens and rus splintered boots and i made 100k in one generation. So don't give him anything. Courser cav also can get money, dunno about destrier.

If I play my courser build

59,093 goldCost
4,132 goldUpkeep (max)

I generally lose about 50k gold in a generation (give or take), including the money I make as a peasant until I'm able to ride my courser (I go 12 strength before going 18 agility), so I'm a peasant basically until I get 18 agility.

You can play as a very conservative 1h with a wakisashi, that's not optimal but still decent. The sumpter horse is just plain useless no matter what you do with it. You need three hours on a straight line in order to reach your top speed from a cold start, roughly four hours if you want to make a U-turn at max speed, and you have to pray some preferably supernatural power for salvation if you ever encounter terrain which isn't perfectly flat. I stop here before I have to talk about the necessity of doing something useful for your team when there are people that try to kill you in the other team.

The sumpter horse is just a very expensive transport for the rich.

You should add the names of all these nice donators to your signature with a thank you note attached.

Am I the only one that gets a twinge of satisfaction out of reading about destitute horsecans?
