Title: PING overbalance
Post by: deVada on April 20, 2012, 10:48:38 pm
Hi,
meet kinngrim today with his 17 ping on EU1 and fast 1h feinting build

with ping 50, shitty M&B animations and slight lag on spawns/deaths of sbdy - it was pointless and extremally annoying to try to kill him.

what about making lets say server delay at 30-40 miliseconds to all players with ping below the set value?

it will make the game less annoying

I remember playing the original SOCOM on PS2, I had some shitty DSL and could take 30 bullets before dying.  Even on the end scoreboard it showed me taking 20-30 hits.  Good shit.

The reason for this, is that they accommodated the lowest common denominator, so people with low ping were severely punished.  Not a good idea.

Unless I'm grossly mistaken, blocking in Warband is already normalized to 50 ping. Below 50 ping, there is a slight delay added to your blocks. Above 50 you're at a disadvantage, though.

Haha I wish I could get 50 ping on a server I'm never below 80 due to the fact I live in California and playing in EU is painful but honestly I adapted and blocking with 80 ping is never a problem. I actually have troh me with going on west coast servers and getting 10 ping cuz it seems so slow haha I suggest just get used to it and practice against some 1hs for awhile
