Title: Rain, can dev team answer here.
Post by: Old_Sir_Agor on April 20, 2012, 07:36:25 pm
The amount of rainy maps on eu 1 is 50%, can devs answer why it is raining sp much? or it is just to nerf ranged on 50% of maps?
And why you dont make less rain?

Didn't expect you to feel so important, so to think it's just to annoy you, or that you're THE most annoyed by the rain. You're just slower.

25%

Make it 15% or less, no one really likes rain.

That is such a shit idea

Weather can be fun, but at the rate the rain goes on cRPG the only thing cRPG can stand for anymore is constant Rain Pouring Gayness

Ammount of assholes is this community is too big. Yes it is fun to you,but not for me. I dont see ppl,i don't see weapons at night,so it isn't fun at all.
While i see fog, others usualy have clear wether so they have advantage. Sand storm is mega fun,i don't see anything in that storm so whole map is just waisting money and time.

So just because YOU suck at the game when its not 100% visible doesnt mean we all do, maybe you need to adjust your skills (or lack of) to make up for it, because I can fight with no problem in any of these conditions.

I know, I think it's because they are both capitalized and you both say some dumb shit once in a while (although you not as much as badplayer).

The difference is POOPHAMMER conned a bunch of looms (white collar crime) and had a good lawyer, where as BADPLAYER just lit them on fire (blue collar crime) and had to buy a new identity.

Biased poll. Where's the "increase rain" option?

I suggest we increase the fog chance by what the rain chance is decreased if it ever is. It's like there is no fog in Calradia at the moment.

Why? you guys live in an industry polluted town? you people sure love crapy weather conditions, where I live you rarely see fog, only the sky gets grey in moisty weather. Add that instead.

Hey cmp why don't you come post in http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,30052.0.html about if you have any plans for the night time.

A response would be much appreciated. Non-troll response would be best.

Rain nerfs ranged, but also movement speed I believe.

My only grief with the rain, is when there is no clouds above for it to come from. Infact, can we have more weather conditions, like utter blizzards, those end of summer rainstorms where you are being bruised by the weight water, and some modifier for sunny weather on desert maps so everyone in armour above 15 weight starts to gently cook if they dont find shade?

I honestly don't mind the rain being there just as long as its the same for everybody because I get on an awesome foggy cav map and ride around surpising people with my amazing cav tactics and then I realize that an archer is shooting me across the map because he has a sunny day instead of the fog

Dynamic weather would be nice, pretty sure its possible with WSE

According to Taleworlds, this is one of the things fixed in pre Napolean DLC patch that was released.

Night, snow, fog, rain are all atmospheric and interesting, when a rare occurence.

25% rain is very often and because it's random let's say you only have time to play three-four maps on a normal day - it can easily rain all the bloody time.
Title: Re: Rain, can dev team answer here.
Post by: Adamar on April 21, 2012, 06:55:24 pm
I must add, in case realism is the point of these weather conditions, remember that medieval comanders usualy tried to do battles in day time with optimal weather.

Add acid rain which slowly destroys all forcefields (shields) during the map and melts bow strings.

Get rid of rain's effect on ranged, athletics entirely. Having your class's capabilities nerfed randomly @ 25% of the time is a bogus way to balance.

agreed , whats the point of an agility build when its nerfed 25% of the time.

perhaps if we would have weather effects on str builds it would be ok :)
like on pure sunny days those with less durability(agi) meaning str based builds get slowed down  how about that?

and why? because they sun is so heavy on their big armor, lol :D
lets see, a marathon trained like sportsmen in light armor
against
a tincan, powerfull but slow and by far not very durable

both making a 40 km walk with occasitional fighting
+ burning sun from the sky
who is more likely to adept?

Also there maybe the returned way.
Very cold snowy map/weather. Those medium/heavy armor may stay warm a bit longer(mmm how is that with tincans in the cold? they would need a pelty fluffy armor? otherwise their dingong just freezes to the steel)

This does kind of raise the point as to how stupid the rain penalties are considering they actually do equal these suggestions. There is 0 point to the rain penalties.

never said i was completly serrious ;)
but still to have more of those effects would bring in some random variables which player cant only fix by skill
