Title: Decrease cash flow by adding ridiculously expensive very cool looking items
Post by: Torben on April 17, 2012, 08:31:39 pm
I am talking about awesome looking pieces of armors or weapons.  Not better in stats than others,  but increadably cool or unique.

people can show off they got gold,  tournaments can buy them as trophies, etc etc..

thanks to ganner for this epic idea

They will probably introduce respec for gold feature, can't imagine better gold sink than that.

Yes please, but only if the upkeep is only 1% or 0,5%
With normal upkeep i would only use it in EU 3

Already suggested this, but I only mentioned the Boulder on Stick and the Looney Tunes Axe

Adding unbalanced items isn't solution.

like the idea!
but  yeah upkeep % would have to be significantly lowered because otherwise they would be unusable

buying respecs is a good money sink too...and less work for the devs :)

They never were unbalanced, just quite silly

Hehhh, I don't know, the looney toon axe with if I remember right, 190 reach and 50 cut damage with sideswings and a speed of like 86 or something like that was kind of overpowered.

It was kinda before. But it disapeared before the early hit detection.
Seeing it nowadays will only result in addition teamhitting. Or glancing on your allies.
So a pretty bad weapon, all in all.

To OP : Why not. More money sink is definitely what we need. But i always prefered the "personalisation" of our items. "Trading" one +3, to make an already existant +3 item to a "name" item, with the same stats. Who would not want to pick up "Retribution", George's fine flamberge ?
