I have heard/read rumours that throwing is to be changed, not nerfed, and well I have been thinking about something for some time, probably a very simple addition for such genius as is chadz, and could be added on maybe to any future patches:
Throwing Daggers....they ARE daggers....would it be possible to add X function, to use them as melee daggers? Same stats as current "dagger" or maybe slight range reduction (36 -> 34) and use the model of throwing dagger, inverted, as melee model? Javelins swap ends quick-as-a-flash, to poke AND block, these would not even allow block function, but WOULD allow super agile backstabbing bandits...
And we ALL love bandits....

I've always wondered the same thing... why daggers have no secondary option for melee. As for one, I just killed an Ishtar HA with a dagger...

i got 2 nice dagger kills as an archer on druzhina guys, they were TOTALLY not expecting backpedaling archer to become stabby mcstabface.....

I think that they are to short to be melee weapons. But sure, its pretty easy actually, so why not?

He's just too lazy to implement the new model/animation thing for it, most likely.

Its more an issue with how the M&B engine does not like to turn weapons around. You can change your attack animation, but the pokey side has to stay the same regardless of the animation. This is why we have half-swording, but no melee usable daggers.

What? What about javelins, throwing spears, jarids, and throwing lances? Those turn around just fine.

Notice that you throw with the pointy side towards the opponent, and stab with them that way. Unless I'm mistaken, throwing daggers are thrown with the hilt towards the opponent, which causes this problem.

Take a look at javelins, in throwing mode, at REST position, pointy end is backwards, downwards. Press X and pointy end is opposite.....it doesnt turn, just switches around......looks ok enough for javelins, so why not daggers...problem COULD stem from there not being a dagger tip on the model, since it goes from "tip in hand" to "tip in enemy/floor/shield" but I dont think so, just hasnt been any demand for it, so now we create the demand, and maybe chadz delivers??

Dagger and stones are both melee weapons right now, dont see how a throwing dagger can be shorter than a stone with u hold completely in ur fist.......and Ive got a few kills with those btw, blunt dmg ftw.
