Title: How to even play?

I registered and everything. Then I'm in-server and at the equipment select screen, but there's no confirm button, just "Reset to Default".

Is that because it won't let you spawn due to using too many slots? Right click some weapon and see if the "Done" button comes up

Yes, you used up too many slots. If you go over the limit the "Done" button disappears.
