Dear Virgin,
I'd love to continue defending you, but you are costing me too much gold. Today I fought for your virginity for only about 15 minutes and went from 55k gold to 41k before I realized the prodigious rate at which my repairs were draining my coinpurse. What gives? You give only a paltry 50-80 gold per round to fight for your honor? Who but peasants could afford to protect you at such rates? I wish you the best,

Defend the virgin can give a multiplier of x2 x3 if you fight very well and very fast.
But the cost for each round is so much that to not loose money you need to have a 10k equipment. It should be definetely buffed.

You are not suppose to wear any heavy armor in DTV because even if you wear the best armor / helmet you can still die from 1 hit by some opponents

I think DTV needs a reward buff, I went from 750k to 650k in a couple of weeks (did some rageball here and there for cash).
It got even harder because of the teamhitting, but I can't stop playing it because it's loads of fun with some friends.

Yah. Indeed... the exp are a bit below average and the gold you get is laughable. I dont complain about the exp, but guys... please double the amount of gold you get. or at least put 50 percent more on it.
OR! Use the old gold/exp-system... people get exp/money if they stand next to a dying opponent. :D

I'd say a buffed tick but occuring after every wave instead of each enemy type would be ideal. At the moment DTV is a major money sink. Even in low low tier gear you lose money rapidly.

To be honest, DTV does need a good buff. I mean most peasants that start playing CRPG with friends who are high lvl, start in DTV. This way they learn the game, but they will progress really slow and the gold gain is just horrible. If they want to be any good then they'll have to face dieing a lot in other modes such as battle,siege, rageball etc for XP and gold. If they don't, then will be stuck in DTV untill they can finally afford a decent weapon or armor.
I find it worthwhile to somehow incorperate a multiplier for DTV they same way Rageball and Siege have. All though I'm not really sure how it would work in this mode, but I would think that the higher you come (ie nomads, sea raiders and so forth.) will earn you a multiplier. For example: You manage to beat bandits and reach Nomads then give the player a multiplier of x2 and maybe after nomads x3 etc.
But do make sure that if a player joins, he'll have x1 multiplier 1st, and gains multipliers accordinely.
Anyway, this is very theoretical and you can fiddle around with it to make it balanced.

The whole meaning of DTV is to kill BOTS with other PLAYERS.
It's basically the only gamemode I enjoy in this mod.

How about removing all the gold from DTV? Including the upkeep!
No gold earned and none spend. DTV is just for fun anyway. Not for grinding.

Same system as on crpg_3. No upkeep and constant x1. Ofc some kind of timer or sth against leechers

Its been like that for Defend the Village. People started to get Weaboos or Searaiders stuck in a fence or something and just enjoyed their x3/x4.
Maybe! a x2 for 3 ticks after each won wave and x3 for 3 ticks after each won round? (digits are only examples). Would be nice.

youre forgetting the archers here. they can play a relevant role in DTV, if the whole team works together.
Other Idea: 1 exp for each point of damage you deal and 1 gold for each 10 points damage you deal. (digits are only examples).

ya, just thought that archers get their share by killing, as peasants are so squishy ^^
the damage thing doesnt work iirc as tracking damage points is to complicated or something...
edit: but whatever. defend the village was one of the funnest mods, this shit here has to get buffed a bit so it gets playable again.

No but I mean one single tick at the end of the wave. Like it is now (at the moment the faster you kill the more xp/gold you get but you get it all at the end of the enemy waves), it wouldn't be a constant tick.

holy shit, i am, like. way awesome. check this out:
you get multipliers depending on the enemy, not depending on your death. 1 tic at rounds end or waves end whatever, but peasants +1, nomads +2 weabos +3 or whatever, dont remember.

I like DTV the most of all gamemodes in this mod. But the repairs are to dahm high.( Went from like 50-40k in 20 minutes of playing). I can play with crap armor, but then we probably make it to nomads, perhaps weaboos. I think this mode needs a buff (like) multiplier gold/exp) or just delete the repair costs in this gamemode.

was fun because of constant x5 and beating the game while hanging with very cool guys, looting horses, camping caves, hacking the shit out of mindless bots who zerg. same as single player but with friends.

Anyway, DTV has the fun factor that you can slay some bots with your friends which the native singleplayer does not have. Its also very fun to see how far you can get with your team. But the downside to playing DTV is, is the reward you get for all your effort is killing the fun to play DTV.

But yah, I would play DTV more often, too if it could be improved a bit. :D
Maybe some goals here and there... closing some gate, opening a bridge. to defend yourself or to get to a good defending-spot...

L4D is an amazing game, even in versus mode you're still killing a lot of AI zombies. And the only reason L4D would be considered "un-fun" would have to do with the players rage quitting after 1 round instead of playing the whole map. That and the match making was pretty terrible.
DTV is a fun mode, but you lose a ton of money playing there. I don't think they should buff it to the point where people will be here farming gold/xp, but they should buff it a little (maybe after each wave you get a tick?, keep it at x1 until you beat the 3 waves, and then go to x2 after each wave, after the next 3 waves you pass it goes to x3). Seems like an obvious tick/xp/gold system to me.
That being said, if you're farming gold/xp, go to the battle server and help influence your team to win. Sometimes you get in some bad streaks, but generally most nights that I play I have good periods of time where I'm rolling x4's and x5's for 30 minutes or more. But then again I'm a good influence on my team (not-so-humble brag).

This. I don't see how you could be stupid enough not to implement this in the fucking first place. DTV is such a great mode but a complete and absolute waste of time and money the way it is now and it just stupefies me that it hasn't been changed.
