This isn't a balance thread, just a "I don't ever see it used, the texture is ancient and ugly, and it looks just like this other item", thread. Not that I hate any items in-game, but if the devs need slots for new awesome stuff, they can look here to see what items won't be all that missed.

As a one-hander, I find I never use nor look directly at:
- cudgel (there's already a prettier version in the club)
- the hatchet (hand axe is prettier)
- the cleaver is pointless (*badum psh*)
- there are two nordic swords
- the short sword is mostly just a crummier nordic short sword
That should free up some space. Some shields could go too for sure.

The pickaxe looks exactly the same as the fighting pick, but with worse stats. Removable!
Also, the low end "simple sword" "sword" and "nordic sword(s)" could remove one or two of them. As it is, there's only a 1 stat point difference between some of them.

Although some classification would be nice such as -> east -> west -> late -> early -> items.
Seeing samurais with Milanese helm and danish greatsword is disgusting.
If your playing an oriental char at least get some style and stick with the gear.

As already stated: lots of slots are being used where there's little actual variety. The best examples, raised by ShinySpoons, are the many "short sword" variants. I suggested peasant-tier gear because some of that's quite ugly and only used for about five minutes per player per generation.

While I love variety of items, there's some stuff that just doesn't get used. Removing the not-so-popular stuff to add new items would actually increase variety, wouldn't it? And I agree wholeheartedly on the mismatching of gear sets, it just looks like crap. Huscarl shield/Scimi/milanese helm/lamellar? We oughta start a worst dressed thread, just to let those guys know they look like tools :D.

if any new models are introduced i would prefer they were put in as new weapons. The older textures look like stone and work well with my caveman theme.
The old items that nobody uses are the only source of uniqueness these days and are a testament to the original and expansion m&B
Getting rid of the wooden club and the falchion is a sin to all those looters we killed

Black armor and Black Helmet. It should be possible to find something prettier to be the most expensive armor :rolleyes:
