CrazyCracka420,

You have received a warning for non-relevant posts in ban section. Ban/unban section is only for ban/unban requests and admin/witness comments.

Regards,
The cRPG Forum Team.

I very rarely go to the ban section let alone post there, the last time I posted that I recall was to report someone or to corroborate a story...would be fucking awesome if you could, oh I dunno, click your URL address of the page you're on, hit ctrl+c, and then hit ctrl+v after you reprimand me.  I'm going through the ban sections and I don't even see any little "face" indicating I've posted in any threads.  I click on my "show posts" under my username and I went back to March 23rd and haven't seen any posts in the ban section.

If you're going to warn someone about a post they made a month or more prior to your warning, it would be really fucking cool if you let them know what post it was about.

Hell just in general it would be nice if you let them know what post they are being warned for...I know it's a free mod, but is that really a lot to ask (to click the address field and ctrl+c and then ctrl+v in your warning window)?  You wouldn't even need to say why they're being warned, just "you're being warned for this post" and I'm sure they can figure it out from there...

I know lack of common sense is a recurring theme, but cmon now...

/endrant

*EDIT*

FUN GAME with rewards:

Go here:  http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php?action=profile;u=2988;area=showposts;start=0  Find the post that got me warned (look for a ban section post), and tomorrow night I'll follow you around on your server of choice and be your bodyguard/hit magnet.  Because I'm not finding it.

Don't complain. Many others are also warned, and some muted.

Too many people are posting irrelevant shit in the ban requests forum.

Admins dont need to know if a guy has a sexy voice on ts, or if he called u a bad name in the past (although previous history is taken into account at some point).

If you dont have input about the actual ban request eg you were there and saw it happen, pls dont post.

It's easy to derail a thread when it's to discuss rules or not. The most recent example of this was regarding rageball. Admins have discussed the rules now and that doesnt need to happen again though.

I dont know what your post was or anything, this is for everyone to read and is a generalisation.

So asking for the post that got you warned is too much?  Copy/pasta too much to ask?

I can see if you're warning joosta 100 times that would get old, but it's not like I get warned, I'm not a known troll or shit talker...and I seriously have no clue what I'm being warned for...

And I'm not worried that I'll end up being muted since I never get warned, just annoying that you're punishing someone and they have no clue what it's for.

The forum admins, just like the IG admins aren't always on, so sometimes those warnings pile up until someone takes care of them in a big chunk.  If you cannot find the post you were warned for most likely its because it was deleted.

I agree with you. I think someone just wanted to get the message out not to fuck with the forums, albeit with a little more zeal than usual.

Don't worry about it though. Your warning level goes down 2% a day (I believe).

It's more of a badge of honor than anything Huseby. It just means you made some crybaby moderator press his keys extra hard. Where it with pride like a scarlet letter.

Completely agree. I mean, 08:16:40, people should either be at work or sleep, not be on the forum. It's either too early or too late.

Something is wrong here.

I honestly don't even care that I'm being watched.  I don't anticipate getting another warning, and I would need like 10 to get muted (according to Joosto's post).  I just think it's inconsiderate to warn someone about a post that was probably a month old or more and then expect them to have any clue what you're referring to.

But hey, it's crpg where dev's would rather make pixel crack than get their grand strategy game to actually be decent.  Nerf shit and throw your hands up when something else becomes "overpowered", who would have thunk it?

Or just troll people because they ask for clarification when they are warned.  I guess I would be that cynical if I listened to all the whining and bitching for nerfs, implemented them, and then wondered why the game gets worse and worse with each patch.  Still a great game, but it's like this is the developer's personal soap opera...apparently they don't get enough drama IRL so they have to artificially create it.

You seriously made the strongest armor in the game into basically medium/heavy armor.  I never had black armor but talk about a dick in the mouth...really fucked a lot of people over there.

I simply asked why I was warned.  I could care less that I was...it's not like I go out of my way to talk shit, if you look at my posts they are generally constructive and helpful.

If you wanted to ask about why you were warned you'd have PMd an admin/mod about it.
You made a drama thread, and it went wrong. Deal with it.

I tried to reply to the message (but there's nothing to reply to), I didn't know who to go to with it. I  thought about meow, but he deals with enough shit already.  Should I just have randomly picked a mod or dev to pm?  The only moderator that I know if that is somewhat active is jacko.

The thread was made to ask if you could change your policy when warning people.  I didn't think someone would look up my warning and link me the post that got me warned.  And as I've said multiple times, I really don't even care that I was warned since I'm generally a constructive poster with a good reputation.

I didn't make a drama thread, and I don't see how it went wrong.  I didn't expect any dev's to white knight and admit that it would be a nice thing to do if you're warning someone for a post that's over a month old (or deleted possibly) to let them know what you posted or a link to the post.

I'm sure you know, but there's about 100 suggestions floating around to make c-rpg and strategus better.  A lot of really good suggestions.

One that comes to mind about c-rpg is making the battle servers spawn MOTF every round so that it doesn't draw.  I'm sure that's a bat shit crazy idea that will never take hold because you're busy making pretty armor and trolling people on the forums.

Somehow this turned from a "why did I get a warning" to "IMPLEMENT MOTF ON BATTLE SERVERS ERRY ROUND"?

People talking shit because I brought up a  common sense suggestion.  I don't recall asking for anyone to explain why i was warned, I recall saying I don't know why i was warned, and there was no link to the post that I'm being warned about.  So basically it's a useless warning.

Then I was trolled and talk shit to by admins, so I figured maybe I'd poke back a little.

And I did that and meow said, "I don't know." What happens when you get warned and someone of power(IE meow) says that. I wish it'd show who it was that did it, so you can at least then say respond privately. I think that is what Huseby is asking for.

If it makes you feel better, I got 1 warning i shouldn't have on ban spam even though it wasn't spam.
Title: Re: You received a warning....really? really?
Post by: CrazyCracka420 on April 05, 2012, 07:46:02 pm
Precisely...I figured I'd bring it up because I had no idea who to turn to.  I'm not even concerned with finding the post I was warned about, it would just be nice to know what got me warned.

But I 100% expected admins and dev's to come in here and talk shit and not actually comprehend what I was typing.  Skim through, see something to get defensive about, dismiss any valid points, and troll away.

Hence me following the thread derail and pointing out other flaws while I'm at it.

He knows who warned you, so ask him that and you'll know who to talk with.

I meant admin powers, but I misunderstood your post.

Rules and Guidelines (Please Read This Before Posting) (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,11170.0.html)

Now, may I ask how many of you people have read that in full?

I am rather curious.

I don't think I could have possibly made the title any more clear, or put it in any more of an obvious place.

Read the last bullet point of the first list, it is a really nice one.

I didn't, because I follow common sense (and information is ridiculously spread out in different areas).  Apparently I didn't follow the rule one time (who knows when or how or what) and was warned for it.  I'm not one who gets warned very often so I really don't mind the warning.  But if you want someone to learn from a mistake, it's generally advisable to inform them of what mistake was made.

If you'd rather pile more workload onto Meow, then continue not letting people know what post they're being warned about.  One click, a ctrl+c, and then a ctrl+v is more work than having one of your admins researching why someone was warned?  Seems on par for the common sense displayed.

I don't ever recall going off topic or opining in the ban section, hence my confusion, and request that future warnings get a clarification (maybe a link to their post, or the thread).  I'm sure the user can figure the rest out from there.

But it's c-rpg, if the players aren't trolling the dev's and admins are.

I didn't, because I follow common sense

Common sense says read official stickied notifications that say "read this first."

Sorry for being so irked but it is ridiculous how many people don't read a very straight forward topic, and then yell when they get warned for it.

It is not just your actions, but the actions of many that caused this massive warning spree, and for good measure might I add.

The NA crowd needs to finally realize that if you don't have something directly case related and are a witness, you should stay the hell out of the Ban section so the Admins can do their jobs easier. Eu has the odd person posting occasionally in their Ban section, it is to be expected, but NA is an absolute circus and needs to be merrily muted until the point is taken to shut the hell up and stay out of the ban section.

There's stickies in every single forum section.  There's rule sections in every forum section.  Ignorance isn't an excuse, but cluttered information, and information spread out in multiple areas (not to mention stickies that probably shouldn't be and things that should be stickied and aren't) certainly don't help for flow of information.

And I have read the rules in the ban section because it's stickied and huge everywhere you go (as far as I recall).

But if you'd rather have people bug Meow, and then have Meow do research instead of copy/paste, I can't say I'd be surprised.

Failure to cite any specific post that caused the warning
Failure to cite what rule if any the post in question broke
Failure to actually acknowledge WHO handed out the warning
Failure to hand out warnings on a timely basis

pretty cowardly system.  You mean these open source forums dont have way for admin to tag a post to warn it and player actually receives information?  Talk about lame

Thanks for summing it up, I'm terrible at being concise.  And then I get trolled by game admins and dev's who would rather have the players pm a moderator or meow and have them waste their time researching why someone was warned...when a simple copy/paste would do.

I didn't want to get into it, but it is a pretty cowardly system.  I think it's just that they don't want people to be able to question admin decisions, and more so, they don't want to be held accountable to the public spotlight.

My bro brought up how it reminded him of certain sports when a bad play by the referee or umpire is called and they don't show replays because they're worried people will get upset by a blown call.

What you don't seem to understand is that we don't owe you any explanation as to how we run our forum/mod. It doesn't mean we won't give you any if you ask, but if you expect us to spend our time explaining every warning we hand out and every post we delete... how blissfully naive you are.

PS: if you really have to call your buddies to assist you, you might wanna try to bring someone more... reputable.
