Title: CRPG +++Polished Landscapes implementation+++
Post by: Anton on April 01, 2012, 05:20:34 pm
Here is the good Mod: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,87617.0.html (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,87617.0.html)

CRPG must have good graphics  we are in the future and now one likes ugly graphics

Better Graphics = More CRPG Players and more Realism

Have you tried playing some maps with polished landscapes? Gigantic ghost trees and bushes growing haphazardly everywhere, that only blocks your line of sight and doesnt physically exist for anyone else. A lot of maps would have to be reworked from the ground up, especially city/village type ones.

Yes i have tried to play polished landscapes and i know the bug. With some coding it can be remove now i play it in crpg without bug but i think on the other players. They want this mod too. The original warband graphics are so ugly

Only Look on this Beautyfull Fancy Graphics http://www.google.de/search?tbm=isch&hl=de&source=hp&biw=1516&bih=896&q=polished+landscapes&gbv=2&oq=polished+landscapes&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_l=img.3...2441l7152l0l7408l19l19l0l8l8l0l98l878l11l11l0.frgbld. Well, I´d like it, too.

Would enhance the mod a lot imo.

But, what woud be even better, make it optional. But fix the Tree error and so on.

Don't make it mandatory please. It looks good but I like the default graphics better. Polished landscapes look so saaaaad.  :|

My pc could easily handle this but most people who play this are peasants and will probably end up with bad fps and crash a lot.

I am one of said peasants. My laptop already struggles with Riot in Swadian City on lowest graphics.

Playing on a laptop? Just thinking about that hurts my head. I don't think I could stand it not playing on a desktop pc.

yes if it is included it should be a extra option that  could be checked on the launcher

Because that map is a piece of crap.

Poorly optimized, it eats resources like crazy.

No other map does that for me, but when it comes to THAT map, my client starts freezing with a black screen.

@on topic: If you don't like original graphics, try Realistic Colours. It looks cool and doesn't really affect performance, at least here.

I love Polishe Landscapes, but every map would need to be redone (which would take Some Time). And even then, the biggest problem would still be pushing it past a certain someone who refuse to believe in gloomy natural colors (damn pizza eater).

Yeah, we all know that cmpx has a thing for orange fog, fluorescent green grass etc.

Me too, me too... I love that hellish desert storm where you see nothing but orange. Like a bubble gum hallucination.

As much as I *love* this...I understand how this could be difficult and/or a bad idea for chadz and the guys to put in...

Lag, weird issues, etc....plus as someone mentioned, a lot of the maps would have to be completely reworked.

A better thing might be to just make a CRPG for War of the Roses (also being released by Paradox) coming up, which has a newer graphics engine.

Deserving a bump.
I think it's time to add Polished Landscapes to C-Rpg. I believe it will bring a lot of new players, and it will prolong the lifespan of C-Rpg.
Also, to those who fear lag, don't. For me lag decreased after installing PL on many singleplayer mods.
This would be truly great!

I think it looks nice, but that's more for single player (IMO).  Even on my last generation computer that was pretty beastly I ran into fps issues in some multiplayer mods for warband.  Not to mention I would hate to have collision issues where you collide on trees or objects that you can't see, I know that has been a problem in the past.  It runs great on my new system, but you can't expect everyone to have a new computer, especially when playing a game that was released during the last generation of computers.

Not to mention, the link you provided is for a M&B mod, not a warband mod.  SO I don't think it would be easily ported.

Polished Landscapes for Warband are too dark for my taste, Daedalus reworked them for Deluge where they look epic, the one for M&B also looked good. cRPG is already performance heavy on some maps with higher amount of players, I have to resize most of the textures even without any graphical improvements like this.

It looks awesome but as Oberyn said..too many bushes that block the view. Not talking that some people with wooden pcs would experience low fps and other problems

I wanted to open another thread but stumbled upon this.

Is there really no way of implementing this like the way WSE2 is implemented? I mean there may be a box to check on the launcher to optionally run Polished Landscapes so that it doesn't necessarily mean extra burden for those with wooden computers.
