Title: Horse xbow questions.

Greetings.

My question is what skills I should keep upping and what horse I should aim for. A mate told me to go for a cataphract horse and riding 10-11 as it gives a good mix of a strong horse that can take a beating and bump while still having the necessary speed and mobility. Is it worth it to go over 4 or 5 in horse archery? And is it worth it to get 200 in xbow?

Currently I am level 25 with:
str 7
agility 26
riding 8
horse archery 4
weapon mastery 8
crossbow prof 167

Light crossbow, arabian warhorse with the best armor I can wear at strength 7.

If it were me I'd probably go with this build, it'll give decent weaponmaster and riding skill plus the 2 PS means you can bring along a sidearm if you get de-horsed  :mrgreen:

I contribute by neutralising their cavalry, punishing solo 2handers that rush forward and by being the focus of much hate ;)


.. also, what horse should I go for? I got an arabian warhorse, which makes me uncatchable if I play it right .. but the thing dies so damned fast :/ even archers kill it in a few hits.

Large warhorse.
I did use it as a mounted thrower and it's fast enough with many riding and it can take a punch plus it looks cool with the armour.

I'm kinda tempted to put some more into strength after I get 30 agi, just so I can get better armor.


.. or is it better to re-gen for heirloom points? :X

Yes, I found it by random on google and had to recreate him in CRPG  :lol:

This build but 2 in IF if you have no intention of using melee. Arabian is the horse to use if you know how to maneuver. Can easily avoid ranged with all the riding. Plus, most effective horse for bump shooting.

I just wonder how big the difference is between riding 9 and 10 - going str 10 would allow for way better armor and together with iron flesh 3, more durability. Add in a cataphract horse ..

but it feels like a big gambit trying it out :x
