Title: Best Cav bump build
Post by: MR_FISTA on March 30, 2012, 11:35:09 am
Ok I'm playing siege as a bump cav and was wondering which is the best build.

I'm thinking 12 riding 11 shield, just wondering which is the best shield and horse combo to spawn bump peasants with?

Needs to be quick at turning so I can bump enemy's and not team mates

Well the cheapest horse with good bumb damage is destrier, but if u want to turn around quickly u can try arabian warhorse or desert horse but those dont do much damage with charges and can easily be one hitted, or if u have money go for warhorse, it can take some punishment too.

thanks, what about shields I was leaning towards the warhorse as I need the bump damage to be decent.

got a plate covered one, lets see how this goes, saving for my warhorse now unless anyone can suggest a superior horse choice (no donkey spam).

War Horse is such a badass horse.  I should probably get a champion someday.

Best bump build is as follows:

-Champion Mamluk Horse
-24/15, 5 riding, 8if
-Lots of expensive heavy armor
-Plate covered shield, if not a better shield

I'd go for heavylance/8ps, but you could also do a 1hander with mace if you don't like range and couching and prefer attacking at slow speeds.  With a loomed Mamluk bump build, though, of course the beauty is you don't even really need a weapon...just drive through enemy crowds for plenty of kills.  Can take multiple pike hits/mistakes/etc.

Unloomed Mamluks are too damn slow, though, so don't even bring it out until it's at least Spirited.

Your upkeep will be atrocious, naturally, but you wanted the best.  Plated chargers even at +3 are in my opinion too slow to be effective at bumping, despite the charge bonus and wider footprint.
