I personally am not an Agi hoe, however, if you nerfed their backpedal ability, they would pretty much lose their greatest advantage and become redundant.

Hell, why let them move at all? Just freeze them in place anytime a player with more strength comes within 50 feet of them. Also, disable their jumping. They shouldn't be able to avoid anything by jumping over it. Also, their weapon swings way too fast because they WPF and WM crutch. They should be limited to the weapon base speed. :rolleyes:

I tolking about thouse guys who hold S button all the time and spaming LMC coz no 1 can reach them.

You are crazy.
Unless the opponent has like 10 athl and light armour you will still catch up when running straight towards him if he is backpeddaling.

I have wanted this for some time, some kind of downside to backwalking all the time would be nice. That is coming from an agi whore, I despise the use of excessive backwalk it turns cRPG melee into a one sided game (why I only melee in native now I have come back).
Edit: I don't want people who use backwalk for a very short time for outranging, it should be a punishment for those who are overusing it.

Sometimes you need to chase the backpedaller too (shorter weapon), I have seen many players abuse S-walk to gain easy kills. A person of note (whose name I will not mention) in Shogunate armour commonly does well through backwalk+spam with LHB, rarely does he need to block or feint. cRPG is meant to be a more skill based mod than native, which it is between classes, but for melee the rule goes as player A stacks strength and gets long weapon, backwalks, spams and wins. cRPG melee should not allow for this kind of play, even some of the (self-proclaimed) "best" duelists in cRPG abuse this broken mechanic. Hence why I actually find native melee more balanced than cRPG (also because it's faster and more deadly so mistakes are more severely punished).

Don't worry everyone! I know how to translate Retarded. What he's trying to say is: "Please nerf anything that my playstyle/build cannot counter, for it is clearly OP."
If you are seriously having problems with backpeddaling, then the problem really exists between your keyboard and chair.

Some melee people have this ubercool style... They don't even backpedal but turn around and start running like archer with without a melee weapon. This is especially annoying in duelserver because I go there to fight and learn stuff, not to run around the map after some noob who is too scared to block and thinks his sudden turn slash will work on me. It wont because Son Of Odin dont chase...
If there is one playstyle I hate, it must be as I described above. Still, I don't see why to nerf backpedaling. It works only if you chase the fucker. He cant backpedal and hit you if you dont move forward. If someone keeps doing it in the duelserver, just cancel the duel or don't duel them in the first place... You still should be able to have range control which is done by both "s" and "w" keys. That would be too hard if backpedaling is nerfed. It is not lame, as we all know.

Haven't read anyone else's comments, but this thread is right up there with "can we have a archer only server."
You want people to suffer by not being able to use footwork to outdistance you? Just because you're a str crutch who hasn't the first idea how to spec a build that has any degree of skill requirement doesn't mean others should suffer for your incompetence. This is a ridiculous thread.

That's like the opposite of what I would want, I want outranging to be viable, but constant s-walkers to be punished. This would affect the wrong people.

Actually no, I am an agi whore, I just don't like the excessive backpedal way of combat. The game should be won by superior feints and blocking skill more than that of how much you are able to hold your s-key.

You also shouldn't be able to block a 2h great sword with a wooden stick, or recover after swinging a glaive as fast as with a 1h sword. The point is this game isn't balanced around realism because that would not be right for the mod, truth is what you suggest would also be the wrong thing for melee combat in this mod.

I'm an 3 agi full strengt build , and i can catch all backpeddlers and there not even such an problem.
Once im close i will be able to keep stunning them all the time and then one hit them.

This is not a problem at all when you consider only polearms and 2h, but when you do it shielder vs a polearm-spamming, backpedalling and kick-spamming douchebag, it sure feels broken.
Furthermore, what is important is not the lack of skill required to lose against such a stupid "playstyle" in a duel, it's the even lower amount of skill needed to actually do it correctly, in any game mode.

S key players require W key opponents. Try D key and see what happens. :mrgreen:

It's the funny walk back animation problem. The feet position of a europan marshal artist is made so he can move back faster and this is actualy an authentic move - step back and evade, then counter attack. Watch for the trees tho...
