Title: No singleplayer.. Just meh.
Post by: Christo on March 08, 2011, 10:50:20 pm
I mean come on, why can't we have at least an arena or something with the weapons and armour, to examine how they look, how they feel. I'm low on cash, got no gold to experiment, and one of my favorite things was trying and making "armour sets" from the cRPG equipment, to make things look stylish.

With all these small pictures, or no pictures at all, it's hard to tell how that armor will look on me, how I would like this weapon and so on.

That would actually be pretty nice but don't expect it.

A map could be made that shows all the items but there would be no interaction or labeling. The only benefit is seeing it within the game world. Until anything changes, make sure you are using the "eye candy" addon for the character page. The post is stickied at the top of this forum. It allows you to click and item and enlarge it a bit.

There is no singleplayer. Even thread name states it. And many items at cRPG are not in native.

Heh... i just wasted about 40K gold on that, buying various armour sets before retirement to see what to wear next gen.

Shame there's no showroom.

I think it's a good gold sink. I can't imagine why there are so many people with gold shortages that aren't cavalry.

Cause my x-bow is fucking EXPENSIVE.

Really that's the most expensive upkeep I spend on my toons and it hurts like a motherfucker when it breaks 5-6 rounds in a row... which also reminds me why I hate all things dealing with random chance.

You're wrong and even insulting people when you're the one being wrong. Way to go.

GL finding a flamberge in native. Or transitional armor. Or, well, any non-native item, of which there are lots.

The only way I think it would work, if you could copy the cRPG item data to the native folder, overwriting it's item info. Then you could do the singleplayer shop trick.

Hmm, so what you are saying is that I should make a character and collect one of everything in the game (obviously this would require a permanent pezzie to save the gold), and make multiple run throughs and take screenshots wearing the stuff in a duel server.

It would make for an interesting thread if we could get the player base to cooperate and post a cropped screen shot (maybe one of the front and one of the side and one of the back?) of them wearing just "one" thing (likely best ofr doing this in a duel server, this way you can quickly swap things and not worry about anything like upkeep when posing nude with your one item), and slowly put together a thread (obviously with heavy use of the spoiler function). This way people can browse and see exactly what something looks like before purchase.

Sometimes you want to see how X meshes with Y and especially the way helms and armour connects is tricky, with some helms looking awkward with some armour.

I'm up for helping a project like this. I also got over 100 k gold lying around not to be used, and a fair share of weapons i've tried out.

Only problem with this that it takes way too much time and resources away from the people to do it, and it'll just wont worth the effort.

You can basically see that in the shop, especially with the eyecandy script (click on image to enlarge). The problem, as bruce already said, is to see how various pieces of gear fit together.
