I think the hand armor are too expensive especially the price for the heavy gauntlets is too much.

Dont you get it, that hand armor is a luxury? First of all, it doesnt help you that much, so usually first you buy body armor, then head armor, then leg armor and at last but not least, of course, hand armor.

And remember, that hand armor's weight is multiplied by 3 (or 2, not sure) and head for 2 (or 3, not sure) when it comes to decrease wpfs. So no-body-armor guys with helmet and hand armor "to keep speed but not lose money" are just idiots. For price of head, hand and leg armor you can afford light body armor and a bit better head armor...

I prefer to use the two lowest tier hand armours. Easy affordable and are cost effectiv compared to heavier body armour.

All expensiv armours are not cost effectiv. The exist to balance the income of the players.

Allow me to highlight while hand armour is not useless :)

Red Tunic over Mail
Cost 3459
weight 9.5
head armor 0
body armor 36
leg armor 7
requirement 9
 +
Mail Mittens
Cost 1376
weight 0.25
body armor 4
requirement 6
 = 40 body armour total for 4800g

Heraldic Mail with Surcoat 6375 weight 13
head armor 0
body armor 40
leg armor 14
requirement 11
 = 40 body armour for 6375

Leg armour is negligble I find tbh, so don't say that a 1500g is worth 7 leg armour. If you really want you can add sarrainid shoes for 38 gold for 8 leg armour
Hence:
Hand armour is an easy way for a relatively poor char get equivilent protection as armour costinbg thousands more
I win :D

EDIT:
SORRY. Looked at my resell price. It's redone now

Ya, as far as I am aware, there is no hand armor stat. So hand armor adds to overall body armor. Leg armor only adds to legs, which don't get hit very often. Legs is the last thing I equip. This is why a common item to heirloom is gauntlets when you are unsure of your next build.
