Title: Turn the marketplace into an auction house, IMPROVED
Post by: Wookimonsta on March 19, 2012, 01:15:01 pm
Is anyone else sick of these ridiculously inflated prices on the marketplace?

Well here is a solution, turn it into an auction house. When you put it up for sale people can bid on it. This of course only works for pure gold. Therefore, there you can still trade items, but when you want to sell something for gold it goes on an auction for X amount of time.
In order to stop people using their friends to boost the price, all bids cost a certain amount of money and 5-10% of the ending price goes to the house. This money is then redistributed to poor players who have no monies.

Alternative mentioned in this thread:
Allow items to be put on auction.

Yeah I was a poor player once.....till I played (still do) in cheap gear + sold a loom. Also I don't buy looms at inflated prices...I make my own. Effort.

marketplace prices simply not displaying the real item prices in most (like 90%+) cases, ergo , marketplace is somehow silly .

How about simply adding the option to auction items? No need to change the whole system. Like on ebay. You can have a buy it now price and a bidding price.

I think it would probably end up being used to sell loompoints or something. I think that people will use it. Not everyone but we're all looking to get a good deal on loomed items/normal weapons so I don't see why people would avoid using it.

I sell my stones 2 Million !

U MAD ?

The marketplace is not silly. What is silly is people that think someone selling something will display a non-inflated price. Seriously. Btw, an auction system with custom floor/ceiling prices would be nice. But not for this "reason".

"Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it."

...not what the seller offers, nor what the buyer would want to pay.
