Yeah I don't think it happens only on ticks either. It just happens like magic, and I fucking hate it.

I've been getting them less and less lately.  The last time it happened I had been using the same loadout for months, I switched from mail gauntlets to wisby gauntlets and then got the message before the first rounds xp tick

werent they promising to come up with a less horrible way to get crafting? i retired just before i quit before (i was level 33 and retired specifically so that i could get smithing for strategus purposes), but now im level 30 again and almost 31, and i still cant craft anything, i have never gotten the message on my main, though i have gotten it a few times on alts.

so random it's hard to tell what causes it... for a while I went 2 gens without getting it.

Been a while for me.  I swore up and down my first 3 gens I got the message all the time and it seemed like it was only when I had the same gear loadout for weeks without changing it.  Then I noticed I started getting the message when I kept all the same items for a long time but only changed out one item (would only have to have the item changed for less than a map and I would get the chadztext).

I'm done trying to figure it out, I honestly do think between my experience and talking to others, that I had a good idea of how it chadztext was working (seemed like I was finding the pattern) but I think they change the algorithm from time to time so that people can't figure it out (or have to find the new pattern).

I still think it has to do with leaving most of your equip the same and only once in a while replacing it with another item...but that's just a wild speculation.

While dead? No. It is based off the items you are currently holding on your character. (Thrown weapons or spent arrows still count)

What this means is: If I start with 4 swords because I want more crafting points and then drop 3 of them and move on with only 1, the system will only count one sword(the one i'm holding). If I pick up Javelins from the ground and throw them all, I'll get points if i get the message for them even if I did not start with them. If I pick up some random cavalry's masterworked heavy lance for less than 30 seconds in order to kill a charging horse, I'll get crafting points for that masterworked heavy lance. True story.

So if you want the message, keep whatever you want on you. Don't drop it. Yes you can throw or shoot items and get the message, but if you DROP them instead of using them, you will not.

you get it random, if your lvl 1-30 you can get it.

but if your lvl 31+ you cant get it anymore so keep retiring if you want it!

last two times i have gotten it i got it TWICE in a row, like... 3 seconds between the message.

Sucks because i just joined the duel server and was wearing some shit gear...

The second time (not duel) ... was wearing the same gear though, just sad i didn't get my horse : (

Was really weird, i really  doubt it's possible for my account to be bugged such that i get it twice in a row but thats what happened.

Or maybe it was a server message glitch?

Either way, i got lots skill in each of the items now.

First off, can you even be perma banned for that?  I see people doing it all the time.

And it could just be incredibly random but it doesn't seem like you can get it on duel unless you're dueling.  At least, I've gotten it 3x on Duel, and I have never talked to anybody who has gotten ANYTHING by idling on duel, there was a HA who regularly idles on the duel server and he's never gotten it.

DUDE! That sucks royal cock. I feel your pain, I've gone multiple gens with out having it. I rolled 2 gens of the same gear and got the tick twice during those 2 gens. I've tried having the same load out for ages and ages, and I've ignored it and just randomly spazed between gear willy-nilly and gotten about the same result FUCK ALL!
