Title: Make a server for Renaissance and gunpowder warfare

There should be a server where you can use muskets and pistols. This would change the way people play CRPG. It would be very interesting to see how its done.

One reason why I didnt buy newest Mount & Blade : gunpowder. I played mods with it, and I didnt like it.

Id say, keep the gunpowder away from cRPG.

Play mmrussia or with fire and sword. It has a very different gameplay, but to me it seems like your generic FPS shooter. Click and kill, no skill.

Iam not against gunpowder per se, for example I think a handcannon would be a nice addition to cRPG, but anything over that I´d definately be against.It just wouldn´t match at all to have muskets against Viking raiders and shit.

What's your point?  Go play mount and musket.  You'd think templar leadership would have a ban on their members posting on the forums, lot of people giving them a bad name.

chadz has said numerous times gun powder will not ever be in c-rpg.  Close the troll thread from the troll thread starter.  At min move it to suggestions forum, but ideally move to the spam section.

By that logic we should also have stealth bombers in cRPG, because we have the equivalent of modern composite bows and crossbows.

Firearms just provide more camping, just like in M&M, Deluge etc.. Where you have to wait on cover first 3-5 mins before you can even dream of going melee.
A long time ago, chadz did ask from the players either they wanted firearms, and the answer was simple "No".

Well, we already have a lot of late medieval items, and we even have Samurais and Ninjas, so it's too late to worry about the look of the game.

I could live with early medieval guns that need some kind of fork to be planted into the ground, which needs time to be set up, fixes you on one spot, and limits your aiming to a cone of perhaps 10° in all directions. This means you have to plan your shots very well, and you are really vulnerable while shooting. The damage should be a bit better than for arbalests.

Compared to the arbalest it should be of about the same effectivity. Arbalest is faster reloaded (yes!), and you can move while aiming, musket has little to no bullet drop, higher missile speed and damage, but you can't move while shooting, you need time to shoot and you can't aim properly.

I think I could live with that.

Sounds interesting Joker, however the argument against long-loading firearms is the aspect of camping which could happen in battle but wouldn't matter in siege. I also wouldn't love to see gunpowder weapons...

Keep the mod and weapons like now, swords, spears, xbows and bows. That's fine!!

Make it slow as fuck, extremely heavy, loooong reload time and with a 1/4 chance of exploding in your face. More of a gimmick 1 shot weapon than anything else....I still wouldn't want it in crpg.

I lowe to see some weapons wich are uneffective makes lot noise and smoke, nothing more, nothing what can make them efecive like bows and xbows, just another one troll weapon.

Problem is that then if wee add any shitty firearm to game there will be shitload of peps complaining why it soo weak, it should be stronger, make aim better ect.

anyway it can always use xbow WPF
