Title: [My] cRPG Website Problems
Post by: Miley on March 18, 2012, 08:54:15 pm
1. Okay, on Internet Explorer, if I go on the website, the background is like a clear color, so I can barely read things.
(click to show/hide)

2. Marketplace is a bunch of clicking to get finally where you want to be. What was wrong with the last system?

3. Inventory/Gear/Shop is a bunch of clicking too... In my opinion, it's also too complicated to find the items you want. Before, you could click on Items or whatever, and there was the shop on the left, your default gear on the top, and your items listed by chronological order of when you obtained them. I think that was better because usually the newer items you have are usually leaving you before older items. Everything was much faster with just one screen for all items and shop.

This is just my opinion, so I'd like to see what other people think.

Get some proper browser please.

Other than that, took me like a day to get used to new marketplace, its quite neat actually. :)

Try switching to Chrome or Mozilla, it's probably the quickest fix for your problem. As far as the new interface goes, I agree that the new inventory layout could be simplified but the new marketplace is amazing and I think you need to spend some time opening up to it.

Edit: Come on! Grind out that 60 million already!

Same, I just use FF only for cRPG and for download-leech sites, that's all. IE8 is enough and stable, for me.

But as a tiny CSS coder I know it's hard long to make compatible with it.

I have to agree with Miley on the Marketplace and Inventory stuff. It was way better before.

Use firefox. Best browser imo. chrome is good too but I don't trust anything made by google nowadays. Get firefox and download adblocker and a bunch of other privacy apps and you'll be a happy boy.

firefox all the way (chrome's really nice too, but I'm good with FF).  my fiance still uses IE on my computer because that's what she's used to.  But in all honesty, I want the least bloat possible from my web browser.  Even when you set your home page to a blank page in IE it takes 5 seconds before you can start typing a web address.  not to mention it doesn't default to the URL area when you open it up.

Fuck IE.  I think it's hilarious how they are advertising for IE now on tv.  It comes with Windows, if it wasn't a piece of bloated shit you wouldn't need to advertise for the web browser that comes default with 90% of people's operating system.

I hate bloat in general.  I prefer the old school style of Windows, not the Win7/server2008 bullshit windows.  But that's for another complaint thread.

The only time I use IE is when I'm forced to with Microsoft applications (Like Sharepoint and CRM).  Microsoft sucks in general for not making their software compatible with other (more superior) web browsers.

Why would you torture yourself with IE?

General good web design tip: if it takes more than 3 clicks it is bad design.

Wrong.  To see factions information you need to (1) click on battles tab (2) click a battle (3) click either faction (4) click the factions tab that's now at the top (5) search or select the faction from the list.  If you want to see what fiefs they own, then you need to click another time on fiefs >.  That's 6 clicks.  Not to mention half the people probably never knew you could get that information to begin with.

Yeah, there are way too many clicks in my opinion.

As for my browser, I'm using Internet Explorer 8 because I don't like IE 9 :o

Miley can you PLEASE learn to use the correct forum sections?

This is like the gazillions post you just randomly put into the general discussion when they belong in one of the other sections.
At least split them up so you have the tech support part in the support forum and make suggestions in the suggestions section?

1. Technical Support, sorry.
2. "Marketplace is a bunch of clicking to get finally where you want to be. What was wrong with the last system?"
    Sorry, don't see where that's a suggestion x.x
3. "Inventory/Gear/Shop is a bunch of clicking too... In my opinion, it's also too complicated to find the items you want.     Sorry, don't see where that's a suggestion either x.x

"This is just my opinion, so I'd like to see what other people think."
Oh, there it... no, nevermind. That's not a suggestion either.
