Title: New game mode: Defend the king

Siege maps, one old fat king with nothing but scepter to defend himself. He has 500 hp though. He's controlled by random troll.
He also has 2 elite royal guards defending him who hit like a train.
Everyone else is the same.

Attackers must kill and rape king while defenders must protect their king from being raped.

King is free to move wherever he wants and can try to run for his life if he can.
Of course king would need new armour model, crown and scepter.

And of course there needs to be one player who is in the role of court jester, the player takes that spot as a punishment for being lousy king and dying round before.
He cant do nothing but run for his life.

So whadya think, do you want to protect king?

Sounds cool, except that there shouldn't be two "special" guards. The whole team is guarding the king.

Yeah it has been suggested before. It's a good idea. Maybe the jester should have a wooden stick, though.

very bad idea, way too open for trolling and leeching from this community.  You need a more watertight game model that has strong incentives to play it RIGHT.

Jedi Hunt mode, aka Black Knight would be much better.

1 player is THE Black Knight and gets some extra stats + full black armor and +3 weapons of his choice, vs 10 other players.  Whomever kills black knight then becomes it for the next round

This would be cool as somebody suggested like DTV.

One team takes the role of storming the castle, with bot guards placed in special areas around the castle.  This would solve the problem of the "Bandit blob" in DTV where they all just meld together and swing on each other.

Definitely an awesome co-op idea, but I like the idea of a player King + VIP Guards with buffed stats/custom gear.

BRILLIANT!

But I say there should be 2 special guards and the defending team should be 1/3 the size of the offensive team. That should make it fun.

Its very easy to make this game mod. All you have to do is to edit some of the data in the troop.txt file, i doubt Ozin will do this though.

Right, first you need to go to CRPG folder in your warband module. Now open the troop.txt. Press Ctrl+F and search for innocent_virgin. Okay.When you found the virgin something like this should appear:

Change Innocent_Virgin to King . You see the number 6, 6 , 21 , 21 ,5? 6 means how many str he has, 6 means how many agi he has. So he has just 6 str which means he can die from 1 hit. Change it to 500 so the round don't end that easily.

To change the enemies, firsts you need to search for enemies names in DTV. For example the staffman, when you found him something like this should appear:

He has 15 str with 22 agi, thats a very high level character and it is overpowered, so you might want to reduce his stats a little bit, when you done everything. Save it to desktop. make a backup for crpg, then ask someone to host a server and give him your edited files. Put it in general discussion saying new game mod defend the king to tell people download the mod. Then join server and enjoy. Actually in this game mod there are game bosses such as chadz, Urist with 50 str. Now thats insane because no one has even got the chance to meet those bosses because everyone died in first few rounds. It amazed me that DTV look exactly the same as Extra Invasion/ Full Invasion.

Defend the Captain rather than king. Highest scoring player is declared Captain. Emits an aura of powerstrike, shield skill and maybe even slow over-time healing. Once the captain dies the team no longer respawns, gets wiped out, and loses. Mechanics would yield to a formation-versus-formation standoff and the establishment of a leader to the team.

I think some kind of conquest/domination style gamemode with flags would be better and would promote teamwork more. DTK would just make everyone zerg rush toward the king I think.

Well there is a lot more to it. For example king could be player or AI controlled.
There could be standard attacker vs defender.
There could also be 2 kings one in each team.
And if you played AA there could be something like escort the vip from point A to point B. Vip there was a lot slower and already injured.
So much possibilties I want to start kickstarter project to do this. Whos with me?
