Whats the reasoning behind only giving 10k. Cause you start with nothing at all, trying out classes is a pain in the ass cause you have to grind for hours and hours to actually get decent equipment. Especially if you try being a horseman or anything.
Give 30k to STF character, there is no reason not to. What could go wrong or be abused by that? You still have to wait a week for every character, you have to delete if you want a new character, you cant access the marketplace. Why force us to grind?
-
Please do, but only if you already have a main.
If you dont have a main, you could use an account as a gold pot. You have your main account, and a friend who plays cRPG with no main. Every week he makes a STF with 30k, and gives them to you... Do we want this to be possible?
Okey, from below post, no need for this.
Good idea

How would he give the gold from STF as they can not go to market?

I always wanted to make a 13 riding STF on a Plated Charger but never had the patience to grind it all out.
This thread has my approval.

30k is for weapon + armor. Id say 40/50k. Would be full melee set.

I agree, they already cannot get looms so they will be at a disadvantage against players who do, along with the fact that it will pretty much be a new build for somebody.
You get to skip the fun of being a peasant, only to be a peasant with a good weapon for a few hours while you grind for your 6k body armor, and 5k helmet, 3k gloves...

30k should be enough. You shouldn't be able to buy full top tier equipment with stf chars.

Why is that?

Fully agree on giving stf chars more gold.
If you want to try something you should be able to buy the stuff you need for that. No need to buy plate or similar, but if you want to test cav for example you should be abtle to buy at least a horse, a weapon you are going to use (lance, sword, whatever) and also shield if you want one and an armour that gives at least some protections.
With 10k you can afford only the crappiest horse and only cheap equip, probably not even everything you need

Why is that?
Because lazy new comers will never make a main then, and they'll just always play on the STF...
I think zagibu meant you shouldn't be able to STF and have the highest tier equipment right at the start. If they want to grind some gold to get to the best tier equipment, go balls deep.
-
+1, it's tiring to try out a STF cav because horses are so damn expensive.

It would be nice if people could choose to get 50k, no income and no upkeep. That way they can play just like in Native, without worrying about the multi, and with only 50k worth of gear which is reasonable.

I don't get why. I personally DO NOT CARE what other people have.
There are already lvl 31+ players on the battlefield in full looms, why would it be so ridiculous to have new players with expensive gear that almost any player could afford?
Not being able to loom, or go over 30 if they choose, is a disadvantage.
Personally I only use STF to test out builds, if somebody plays STF as a main well that's sad for them but whatever, I just want to see more STF gold. :D

30k should be enough. With that you easily get some decent gear. Maybe not a fat horse directly in the beginning, but play some hours and you easily earn another 30k. 10k is really not enough.
-
Why is that?
Because it would make STF chars too appealing, leading to even less peasants on the battlefield, making it so much more frustrating for regular low level players.

How often do low level players who are slow get to meet other low level players on the battlefield?
They are pretty regularly picked off by cav at the spawn anyway.
And besides having access to a STF character won't make the battlefield any more frustrating for everyone, if the player sucks, they suck. A non- STF character given enough time will not only learn to become better (like the STF character would) but gain better items, or go over level 30.
STF does not put you into an overpowered position, nor should it be particularly appealing. Even if you had your pick of any/every +0 item it would not be overpowered. After all, it's simple math to say that more than half of the players who play are level 30 or higher.
1-29 = 30-31
Many people retire at 31, these players will spend about half of their time at 30. Many others have continued to grind and are upwards of lvl 35.

A full balls to the wall armour cav beast costs around 130-140k to equip plus 1hr of fun/upkeep I say it should be 150k!
Stf is for teh balls and most people don't really play them for very long or much at all. True armour crutching only happens when you are a baron of the market so meh, they will run out of cash fast enough if they go balls the wall. Less peasants = good.

Less peasants = good.
Bullshit.
