Well, I didn't need an account on the forums before right now. Also, since it's my first loom point I don't have anything to give to make it a safe trade so hmmm indeed.

While this may be true, the best way to ease peoples feelings might be to provide a screenshot of your character page showing that you are ready/close to ready, it would help you sell it more likely

And yeah some people post a week in advance so they get more money when they line up a buyer.  "Highest bid when I'm ready to retire gets it, 500k away" sorta thing.  "It'll be about a week, start bidding"
