I am not a native English speaker, so I try to explain the case as clear as possible.
Some people use the very good and expensive equiptments, expecially with heavy horses.
So the upkeep cost should be very high.
But what they are doing is, quit the game before the round end, so they do not have to pay any upkeep cost, but still earn the regular income, and uses the most expensive equiptments!
Of course wether they quit the game is depend on the situation, if their team is going to win, they will stay and enjoy X2 X3 etc...
So, I hope this bug be solved soon...

Well if they leave the server they lose their multi, so their not gaining much from leaving the server and rejoining. I don't really care about this cuz i play this game for fun, but if it really annoys people, i guess some rule should be implemented. I don't really mind if people try to avoid upkeep, because at some time they will be paying some sort of upkeep for their heavy armor which will take lots of gold to repair.

If you leave a server mid round, your items still need to be repaired.
Every minute of a round, an item has a set percentage of breaking, and leaving early doesn't change that.

^ This.

Why would it matter to you if they leave or not? Does it affect you? Back in old cRPG there was NO Upkeep

Back in "old cRPG" there were archers running faster than horses (kesh) and noobs wouldn't stay longer than a day, so what of it?
-
yes, it matters. if a team has 3-4 people doing this, the situation will be quite different. The other team might lose the round.
They will not leave the server if their team is going to win, but they leave if their team is going to lose.
So the new rule of reset multi to 1 has no effect to this kind of cheating.
And the maths is simple, it is easy to calculate the equiptment value which could cover by X2 but no need to consider X1.
So generally speaking, it is unfair to the regular players.

I'm sorry but this is wrong (I know this)...
...does it really mater? Sell one loom point and upkeep won't be a problem for a shitload of time anyway... weight is the biggest con factor when people chose armor...
-
As said somewhere above, you have to repair even if you leave server earlier. Even leaving within the first 10 seconds after spawn makes you pay sometimes. Check your website gold before and after logout. Most of the time it's less afterwards because upkeep ticked in just as if you would have been on server
-
Also a lot of the guys you see with massive expensive gear are using vast pools of money to pay for there habit.

No this is true, I have tested it myself and saw the gold being removed from my stash even though I left, it happened a few minutes later when the round ended
-
Yes, this is working as stated by the others, leaving the server will either remove the gold at round end or leave your items damaged on the website and in game.
I don't remember which one

Maybe they've fixed it recently or else I'm the luckiest player on earth, yet to have gold removed while doing it...
...checked whether I was missing cash multiple times.

It's easy to make shit up.
Btw, the amount of upkeep you have to pay depends on the number of ticks. So maybe when you quit early you only pay upkeep over the time you played, thus making it small when you quit just after the round started.

You can avoid paying upkeep if you quit before the first tick, so... Enjoy your 29 seconds of play time per round (or 59 seconds if you time it correctly later in the round and spawn late). A few players have shown me how to avoid upkeep, and it is not by this way. I'm not certain though that upkeep can be bypassed anymore, as the method I was told was back when Defend the Village was a new playing option.

Wrong. If you leave before you're the last person on your team, you won't pay upkeep. If you leave and join before the round is over, you MAY pay upkeep, but not if you stay out of the server until the round ends.

nope even if you stay out, you lose gold
tested it myself bro

The easiest way to avoid upkeep is to not play.

Easiest way is go EU_3 only, you is fail.

Sorry Kevin, (and I don't read the whole thread) this is not true.
From my own experience wearing expensive heavy armor on a med price horse like courser, having disconnect and finding out that you lost 4K plus your x5 multi HURTS.
If somebody told you you can avoid paying upkeep by leaving the server before round ends....
HE TROLLED YOU
He probably wanted that you miss out on the multi, whatever.
Theres no such thing as avoiding the repair cost. Maybe even AL-Adin has to pay carpet upkeep!
